Having played around with the app for a few minutes, I really like the design aesthetics. The use of pastel-style colors on the flat gray/white is appealing to me. The icon for the app is also very nice.

If this is where we're headed, I think I'm going to like it.

Find another app published by Apple, then scroll to the bottom and tap on 'Developer Info' to see a list of all the other apps Apple publishes; the WWDC app should be at the bottom.

A million thanks... It wouldn't search for it and even the direct link given in the OP seems broken... :) and I didn't think of this... :D

I mean, can you watch the live keynote if you have no iOS device?

EDIT: Sorry for the duplicates, internet connection freaked out.

No, Apple does not live stream WWDC.

However the whole keynote will be available on apple.com after the keynote (might takes a few hours).

The calendar view on the iPad versions is pretty sweet.
If that's any hint to where Calendar app is going I'll be very happy.

WWDC App

It's obvious to see the aesthetic change of this year's WWDC app compared to last year's, but I was just wondering what the font this year's WWDC app used?

It's a little bit flatter, but very similar to last year's app...Apple isn't going to tip its hand with this app, and there's no need to. The app is of most use during WWDC itself, and iOS 7 isn't coming to the public for months.

Apple hasn't announced any live streaming plans, either in the app or elsewhere. They've done it before for media events, but not for WWDC keynotes where people are paying $1500+ to see it live.

it not just about seeing the keynote live.

it about meeting people there and networking which is far more important. who knows that might actually help you.

would this mean Apple would still live stream the event as they did last year ?

They never streamed a WWDC; they streamed the last (two?) "minor" events. However it would be really cool, much different from following the conference from a live blog, like Engadget.

ya.. thats what i meant ...

Minor, major .... to me, its still an Apple event..

Would also be good, since hose that get to WWDC.

Live blogs are ok, but more could be done...... Alas, thats all we have to work with at the moment.

Sine Apple streamed the minor event, i don't see why i can't do it for a major one.. Maybe bandwidth issues ?

I wouldn't be surprised.... Even tried watching iTunes in the evening :p

The app isn't for you to code with. It's so you can watch all the workshops without having to drop $1500 on a ticket and airfare to California. Then you take that knowledge and code away on your device of choice.

Not sure why any dev would be bothered enough to post this.

Because the old iTunes U method of delivery for the WWDC videos seemed superior, since it delivered them on the machine I use to develop apps with...
I rather watch them on my 27" display than on a iDevice, that's what I was saying.
