Just set a lower goal for move and you can close it every day. Set it to 2000 calories and suddenly you don't have time to write code.😂

Additionally, I think it’s a distinct advantage for Apple employees, is they now have this massive campus where they can physically get some exercise in between their lunch breaks/before/after work, and it gives an opportunity to congregate with other employees who are participating in this, and set the example for other employees who aren’t sure if they want to be involved in this move goal.

Exactly. Employees have ample opportunities and facilities to close those rings. Apple campus is slightly less than one mile in circumference and the radius is equally inviting for a nice walk.

Plus that scenery is probably better than 90% of consumers viewing pleasure have with their 9-5ers. I mean, The fact that Apple promotes health heavily in their company says milestones, especially when they have ability to enjoy the scenery on the campus, as well as good exercise.

The stand and exercise are easy. As a (mostly) runner I tend to burn a lot of calories in ruining days, but rarely enough on off days. The Watch loves to get that number cranked up. After a marathon I'm not going to burn much the next few days. So the key is to keep calories set to minimal. :)

There is no way I could close all three rings everyday for a month. I barely do it twice a week. The problem is with the red one.

Why don't you just adjust the calories it takes to close the rings?

I may be an odd use case, but I wish there was a way to fill the activity rings without the watch. I am a basketball ref and we don't wear watches during games. I have the Withings Go and a set of Spire health tags. I wish there was another way when I can't have the watch on.

Am still annoyed that I closed all 3 rings every single day of 2017, and the app didn't acknowledge it.
A dozen or so days, I've completed the stand goal 24 times in 24 hours (seriously). The first time I did it, I thought I'd get an "Insomnia Badge." But nope! 🤣

The Move and Exercise goals are both based on the user's current physical condition, not a specific amount of calories burned. Only Stand (stand/move around for one minute per hour) is the same for all participants. A person can "stand" in a wheelchair or even reclining in bed - the key to Stand is hourly physical activity, not rising to ones feet.
None of the goals are necessarily based on physical condition. The Exercise goal is 30 minutes for everyone, and the Move goal is user-selectable.

Users can elect to use the “smart Move goal” provided in the Weekly Summary notification sent on Monday mornings. I recall the story of a user who did this weekly and the suggestion increased eventually to levels that simply weren’t sustainable. Not sure if the algorithm’s changed since then.

Ultimately, even the Move goal has nothing to do with one’s physical condition. I could set my Move goal to 10 kcal/day and meet it every day by just wearing the Watch and sitting around for like half an hour, or I could set it to 2,500 kcal/day, which is flat-out unreasonable for my lifestyle. (The maximum, if anyone’s curious, is 10,000 kcal/day.) Instead, I have it set to 600 kcal/day, which is very easily attainable if I close my Exercise ring.

I don’t even know what it takes to close a ring. And when my watch notifies me that I’ve been sitting too long I just extend my arm straight up over my head and continue working. Later it tells me to ‘breath’. Apparently my days are numbered.

Wouldn't it be nice if there was something Apple did for those who have achieved a large goal like 1000 days completed or 1000 consecutive days in a row. I wouldn't mind being able to buy a pin or t-shirt with the achievement on it.
