You're saying that as long as it wasn't murder, he shouldn't be punished. For some reason a certain date in January comes to mind.

He dared to hurt apple, so for some people there’s no punishment hard enough for the guy.
 
Punished for leaking plans about a dead-on-arrival Vision Pro? He couldn't have harmed sales that don't exist.
 
This guy may have broken the terms of his NDA but he did not break the law. Given these times we really need to know the difference.
