Amazed this needs explanation.
Then again, are you going to tell me that if they only offered a Max variant for now, nobody its going to buy that model because the Ultra is not available?

That part needs explanation?

Let’s be realistic here: Apple most likely isn’t in that much of a rush or desperate for, what is undoubtedly, a relatively small segment of potential customers. And for consumers clarity’s sake it’s simply better to release the entire M4 Mac Studio lineup in one go.

The real question for the M4 MacBook Pro and Air is: Will the base M4 Chip support 2 external displays without the closed lid workaround?
According to the specs in Apple’s website, the base M4 supports up to 3 displays. This should be a big win for the base MBP and the MBA.

Continuing with the realistic scenario, Apple never cared about what we want but that doesn’t mean that if they offered only the Max chip, people wouldn’t buy them.

The customers that want or can only afford a Max will buy a Max, regardless of the Ultra, Super Ultra, Extra Magnificent Ultra, etc, were also available.

But clearly, you would not accept that because at this point, the only thing that matters is to prove me wrong.

And its ok, its just another day in todays internet life.

what if: the new mbpro models will only be available with m4pro/max configuration. leaving "base" m4 socs to the non-pro devices like imac, mini and air?

Whether or not people would buy the Mac Studio with only the M4 Max available wasn’t the discussion to begin with and also not what I’m contesting. You simply asked why Apple doesn’t already offer an updated Mac Studio and got a more than plausible and fairly obvious reason why.

The reason why I replied was because of your condescending post:

Amazed this needs explanation.

The other posters response was valid, but so was my question for the reason that I already mentioned, which you could had looked at it from a possible positive side, instead of the usual internet driven negativity.

These computers are just tools, not objects of divine creation and worshipping.

I would definitely would have done that, if it wasn't for the additional "so strange" which made it seem like an immediate judgement on your part. Maybe I was wrong there.

Talk about being condescending.
