i bought an Apple saddle brown leather for my silver X yesterday. it was an impulse buy at the store, it looks nice no doubt right now, but after reading some complaints against apple leather case such as scratches and discoloration over time, on top of that i think saddle brown is too antique of a color for such a modern phone. i'm deciding whether i should switch the saddle brown leather to a midnight blue, colbolt blue or white Apple silicon case? any opinions?

I have the midnight blue and ultra violet in the silicone cases for my silver iPhone X (i’m vegan so no leather for me). Both are nice, but attract lint/dust occasionally (nothing a wipe down can’t fix).

Is it true apple silicon cases are a tad thicker comparing to this leather counterparts?

I had the saddle brown for my 7 and it’s the best case and color I’ve ever had. If you want a leather case, this color ages perfectly and looks better after it does. I’ll be picking another one up for my x now.

The black leather will have the best longevity and continue looking like new IMO, had one on my 6 plus for 3 years

How about Cosmos Blue Leather case? Any good?

Which of these leather cases will match the space grey iPhone X?

1) Black
2) Midnight Blue
3) Cosmos Blue
4) Brown

Have you posted a photo of it by any chance?

I presume you took better care of it than the average user?

I have a few apple leather cases for my X:
  • Black
  • Saddle Brown
  • Product Red
I have cosmos blue on order. I returned charcoal gray & midnight blue. Jury is still out on product red. Definitely keeping black and saddle brown.

Ok. Are any photos of your 3 year old case floating around?
Yes, but getting an error message saying file is too large, not sure how to reduce via iPhone? If u know let me know and I will send

leather case is too thick... not as thin as previous ones.
We don't know that for sure - only one person has said that's the case.

Had two Apple white silicone cases on my 6s, both started deteriorating from normal usage. I went with black leather for the X and no regrets so far.

I had the black leather on my 6--loved it--so went with black leather again on the X and it seems more slippery--not real happy with it.

More protective then? Than previous leather apple cases?
I would say its more protective but gives it an added girth that Im not thrilled about. It also seems a little more plasticky than previous one (iphone 6). It really lost its premium feel imo...

no... its thicker really

I swear I read somewhere on this forum apple silicon cases are a tad thicker than the leather ones. I’ve never us d silicon cases before, but did have experience with apple leather case on my 6S Plus and now the X.

Leather case is slippery for X previous versions were not this slippery for 8,7,6

I pretty much rule out those amazon cases, will check out the apple silicon cases tomorrow at Apple store.
