My opinion, it is all up to you my friend. :)

I had midnight blue leather for my 7+ and loved it. I almost ordered again for my iPX, but brown is more “my thing,” so I went saddle brown this round.

Thing about leather cases is it changes over time. Duh!, right?
But you have to keep that in mind for whatever you select. For leather.
Black will stay black. But midnight blue becomes “more night” after a while. Still blue, but darker.
Saddle brown will eventually look like a saddle in a museum.
I can only speak for these colors because these are all I’ve experienced personally.
I’ve had various cases offering “one MILLION layers of protection” from some of the big names out there, and that’s fine if you’re clumsy. But leather protects quite well too. My 7+ had its share of “light drops” (most not exceeding 3’ in travel, and mostly onto carpet), but leather will show its scars. Fortunately, the leather seems to heal over time.
The other thing about leather is, it is a little bit more slippery at first, but with oils (from your skin) and time, this slowly changes.
I’ve included pix of my old 7+ midnight blue leather case.
Hope all this helps!

Bring up photo > Edit > Crop > Slide in borders from all four sides as much as you can, to fit just the case in the image > Save....the try uploading again.

We don't know that for sure - only one person has said that's the case.

Thanks Ralfi! This is mine and my wife’s 6 and 6 plus after almost 3 years of daily use.

leather case is too thick... not as thin as previous ones.
Not sure why you are saying that? Seems like it is the same to me

I had the black leather on my 6--loved it--so went with black leather again on the X and it seems more slippery--not real happy with it.
You need to break it in, like always

Well i ordered my silicone and leather back cases yesterday and they arrived today so concord speed delivery. I actually prefer the leather. Really nice case and no marks or creases so I will send the silicone back

Love the silicone. The leather feels weird in the hands after a few months.

The only thing I hate is that they left the entire bottom open, my silver X is going to scuff up down there, but I will try to be as careful as I can.

I ended up going with the Bare series case from P DuJour. With the X, like my 6+, I need something that isn’t slippery, keeps the phone near its normal size and is thin enough to use wireless charging all while being stylish. I rarely drop my phone and it feels really awesome in hand. I’m pretty satisfied with a $14 case. I’m just done using huge cases. Had an argument with my bro last night. Apple spends millions designing these and we just throw them behind huge cases lol it’s kinda redundant.

The advantage with saddle brown is it looks better with age.

Attached a pic of mine after a years use.

Here's my midnight blue on my 7+ compared to my new midnight blue on my X. And yes, the leather cases seem way more slippery than years past.

After much debating, leather, silicon or clear. I finally decided on the apple midnight blue leather case. I went to Best Buy today and swapped my saddle brown leather with the midnight blue. I chose the leather over silicon in part because this year’s leather case comes with metallic looking button covers, they look great and easier to press buttons with them comparing to the apple silicon case I had before.

Love the metal buttons on the new leather cases, but they really are slippery, especially in cold weather.

I started with a blue silicone case, but turned right back around and traded it in on the cosmos blue leather. The silicone attracted way too much lint and dust in the 10 minutes I had it.

Now looking to get a black Apple logo sticker to put in the back of the cosmos blue leather case to give the space grey X some character.

I dont want to be a Debbie downer, but when someone has a drop on a hard surface, please chime in on both how the case and more importantly the phone hold up or dont

Leather case shattering my 7+ haunted me last week

I swear I read somewhere on this forum apple silicon cases are a tad thicker than the leather ones. I’ve never us d silicon cases before, but did have experience with apple leather case on my 6S Plus and now the X.

The Apple silicone case is slightly thicker than the Apple leather case, yes.

Are you guys not worried about scuffing the exposed part of the phone at the bottom?
I am being careful where I place my phone and having clean hands when using. If it ends up getting a few light scratches, I won’t overly fret about it as many here do.

I used to keep all my phones in a Otterbox case. This time around, I decided to get rid of the extra bulk. The leather case has been working well thus far. The new case is slippery. Over time, that will change.

Leather is my jam. Saddle brown specifically.

Does anyone think that this year's leather case for the X is of a better quality?

Feels softer, less creases and actually smells like leather. The finishing seems smoother as well.

Love the silicone. The leather feels weird in the hands after a few months.

The only thing I hate is that they left the entire bottom open, my silver X is going to scuff up down there, but I will try to be as careful as I can.

I rotated between saddle brown/product red/midnight leather cases on my iPhone 6 for over 2yrs, the bottom opening of my iPhone 6 is still MINT.
