Seriously Apple, take care of your own first!
Which has less than nothing to do with this thread. Congratulations.yes .. but i won't buy 5c or 5s i am happy with big screen htc one
Ordered mine on opening day and still don't have it.![]()
Seriously, read up on international marketing and how products get launched !
For starters since people are willing to wait there is no issue for Apple to lose sales. Might as well sell and work on the supply issues.
In all countries there are holiday seasons and a lot of preparation has gone into
booking advertising, store displays, making deals with carriers etc.etc.
The multitude of steps and workload cannot be pulled out of a drawer overnight.
To those who think America is alone in the world and only it deserves the best, the most, the fastest, never ending supplies, no supply bottle necks etc.etc:
Do yourself a favor and travel. There is an entire world out there full of problems.
Having to WAIT (OMG) for a phone isn't going to kill you!
I wish they'd resolve supply constraints in their existing markets first... Waiting til at least Nov 19 for my 5s order apparently![]()
The delivery estimate for US is 2-3 weeks it means you must have only just ordered it.
If you wanted it earlier then you should have ordered it sooner.
Sure, lets wait for every American to have one before allowing people in other countries to even attempt to order it :roll eyes:
The fact that Apple is an American company doesn't mean the rest of the world is secondary. They need to put these devices on the market in as many places as possible before the holidays season for obvious reasons.
Seriously, the problems are deeper than that. Firstly, I placed an order on the Apple store with an estimated 2-3 week dispatch. As soon as the order went through, what did I get - an estimated 3-4 weeks delivery date. So the supply problems are deeper than they are trying to suggest.
Secondly, despite mounting orders on the online stores, they are still sending stock to the shops for people to walk in off the street and buy. OK, you have to be there early and queue - but it's favouritism for people who happen to live close enough to a store in order to be able to do so.
And the two times I've tried, nobody seemed particularly fussy about what model they got. Possibly because a significant number of people queueing up are doing so just so that they can stick them straight onto ebay and make a profit.
So, it's not just a case of saying they shouldn't be entering new markets whilst they can't service the existing ones - they need to do more to ensure that genuine customers are able to purchase devices. Such as only having sales via the online store, with limited numbers distributed to same address / billed to the same card, or possibly with in store sales done via ordering and with ID, until supply constraints are resolved.
You have no idea where I am, plz don't assume I'm American, it's not the only place these phones are available to orderpoint remains if they can't even fulfil demand for orders in existing markets for weeks and weeks on end, how sparse are these things going to be in new markets?
Awesome observation, Captain Obvious!
Lame comeback as the shipping estimate everywhere is 2-3 weeks, not just the US, but silly me for assuming that you wanted to put the rest of the worlds supply of iPhone's on hold just so you can get yours.
..if they can't even fulfil demand for orders in existing markets for weeks and weeks on end, how sparse are these things going to be in new markets?
They are most likely just planning ahead, knowing their supplies are ramping up, with those 5C lines converted to 5S production.
I doubt that they are really low on supplies. I think it's more an artificially created shortage in order to prevent the 5C from becoming a total FLOP!"Hey guys, we're already low on supplies, lets do it in some more countries"
*everyone cheers and raises their drinks in the air*

Seriously, I was in a number of Apple stores last week (Hong Kong, Anchorage, New York) and no iPhones 5S were available for purchase. Those Apple 'geniuses' can't even tell when or if a shipment is coming in, or what's inside this shipment. Helloooow?! Track & trace anybody...? Amazing that a business as big as Apple has such a lousy logistic system in place that they don't even know have a rough idea of when and how they will supply their stores.
Nevertheless the store 'geniuses' were always asking if "I didn't want a 5C instead." Go figure...![]()
