Philippine carriers Smart and Globe have announced that they will launch the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c on November 15, suggesting that Apple may be planning to roll out its new iPhones in a broader fourth wave of countries on that date. The news comes as Apple launched both new iPhones in the second wave of countries late last week and will also rollout the iPhone to 16 other countries this Friday, November 1.

AppAdvice also has a theory on the matter, giving a potential list of countries for the fourth wave of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5s launches based simply on other countries where the iPhone 5 launched on the same date as in the Philippines last year:
After looking back to the countries grouped with the Philippines for the sixth wave of last year's iPhone 5 launch, and removing the territories which have (or will have) already received the new smartphones, we're expecting Apple to bring its iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c to some or all of the following countries on Nov. 15:

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Ecuador, Grenada, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Kuwait, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Qatar, South Africa, and Venezuela.
After its November 1 rollout, Apple will have brought the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c to a total of over 60 countries, which will move the company closer to its stated target of avaliability in 100 countries before the end of the year.

Overall, supplies of the iPhone 5s remain constrained, with shipping times in the United States and a number of other countries still at two to three weeks. Supplies of the iPhone 5c, however, remain plentiful with estimated shipping times of 24 hours.

Update: Several Israeli carriers have announced that they will be launching the new iPhones on November 3.

Sure, lets wait for every American to have one before allowing people in other countries to even attempt to order it :roll eyes:

The fact that Apple is an American company doesn't mean the rest of the world is secondary. They need to put these devices on the market in as many places as possible before the holidays season for obvious reasons.

So I understand the concerns -- if the 5s is contrained already, what will oppening up to other markets do? However, there are also reports that Apple has cut back on production of 5c so the contraint is not there.

I do not know how these two statements are reconciled. Maybe Apple believes that the 5c will be more popular in these other markets and that is why they think they can continue to expand without it making the issue any worse. Another possibility is that they have ramped up addition assembly lines to provide more 5s (maybe even the 5c lines that were cut have switch to 5s production).

Hell I have no clue, but I like the continued expansion. It helps keep Apple out there in the Android filled world.

Iphone launch delivery 3 weeks later...

Dear Apple,
You make beautiful products, but please manager the distribution. In Holland the 5s and 5c were launched last friday. I ordered a 5s whitch is to be delivered in 3 weeks! Why not launch when you are sure the products can be delivered at once!

Chill out everyone. I bet carriers on those countries will probably only get a dozen or two of the new 5s on the 15th. I ordered the iPhone 5 from Globe Telecom back in November 2012, and got it already in January of this year. It's ridiculous.

The delivery estimate for US is 2-3 weeks it means you must have only just ordered it. If you wanted it earlier then you should have ordered it sooner.

Seriously Apple, take care of your own first!

Just so you know, Apple makes a lot more money outside the U.S. than within the U.S.

And pretty soon, China will probably be a bigger market for Apple than the U.S.

I ordered a gray 5S on 10/14, it shipped 10/21 and I'll pick it up today 10/28. They used 5-day shipping (not overnight) from China to Boston, MA w/ signature required or else I would have picked it up over the weekend - its been "here" since Friday night.

Estimated arrival on the order was 11/2-11/6 so they were a full week ahead of their estimates. Overall nice job Apple!

Seriously, read up on international marketing and how products get launched !

For starters since people are willing to wait there is no issue for Apple to lose sales. Might as well sell and work on the supply issues.

In all countries there are holiday seasons and a lot of preparation has gone into
booking advertising, store displays, making deals with carriers etc.etc.

The multitude of steps and workload cannot be pulled out of a drawer overnight.

To those who think America is alone in the world and only it deserves the best, the most, the fastest, never ending supplies, no supply bottle necks etc.etc:

Do yourself a favor and travel. There is an entire world out there full of problems.

Having to WAIT (OMG) for a phone isn't going to kill you!

I would like them to get the phones to my local Verizon store in Brooklyn at some point. I like shopping locally, even if it is a big brand, and I like to buy in store, open box in front of guy, have us both check it out for defects, then accept the product. I bet there is still a month to go before I can do that locally.

Still waiting

I'm still waiting for the two 5s iPhones I ordered from Verizon the first day they took orders. How can Apple be taking orders for overseas if they can't even supply us locally?

Looks like Apple will have yet another Holliday record sales quarter. Too bad stock value is a direct function of emotions instead of profits.

On top of all other factors, different countries use different frequencies than the USA. So the hardware is different. Last I checked Apple unified the Verizon and AT&T versions to one SKU but have 2-3 other SKU's on frequency. That in addition to SKU's for color, memory, s/c.
