Makes sense in why it's not on the 12/13 mini, that would be too small to see. Even with perfect vision, you'd have to look closely to see the percentage.
I wasn’t sure about the iPhone 11, I couldn’t remember whether it was OLED or LCD. I did figure that LCD vs OLED had something to do with why the iPhone X was supported and not the iPhone XR, since the XR is obviously better in every way except for the OLED display. So to anyone who didn’t think for more than 30 seconds and just started saying “well screw you Apple for making it an exclusive feature!” Let’s think about it for a second. All the phones excluded here are LCD-paneled devices, with an additionally much lower PPI than the OLED devices. That’s why your iPhone 11 isn’t getting the feature, there’s just simply not enough pixels for it to look good enough to be there.
“But the 12 Mini and 13 Mini have the highest PPI out there! Why doesn’t it have it??”
The answer is in the question. It’s a mini phone. Sure, the 13 Mini’s notch also got smaller with the 13 Series, but there’s still not enough real estate to fit numbers up in the battery indicator comfortably.
And you all know that if these phones DID get the battery percentage feature, and it looked off (even in the slightest), that the same people would just be throwing a different fit.
Sorry, i have to disagree with you on this, maybe on the 12 Mini a number in the current battery indicator might be a tad too small, but there is no excuse for the 13 Mini and its smaller notch, there is ample space there to slightly increase the size of the current battery icon to comfortable fit a number inside it.So to anyone who didn’t think for more than 30 seconds and just started saying “well screw you Apple for making it an exclusive feature!” Let’s think about it for a second. Like multi person video chat: available in the days of iChat on PowerPC MacOS. Then it was renamed to Facetime and after years multi person video chat was a new feature again and only available on newer MacsIt's probably one of the smartest moves if you can turn it into a "new" feature only available on the latest iPhones, or at the very least, exclusive to a range of newer, more expensive iPhones while omitting it from newer iPhones that are less expensive, are smaller, have less expensive displays, etc.
I’d forgotten about that. I actually never was super fond of that, and it kept me from using the stock alarm app for the longest time. Eventually, it got to the point where I had to use it, but I’d only turn on the alarm right before bedtime.I wish they would return the alarm icon when it was set on the screen.
