Kinda irrelevant information you got there, .. Becourse the world bank system use over the double of what bitcoin use

Indeed, we should not use bitcoin, there is far better solutions out there
Total energy use is also a red herring. It needs to be indexed per transaction to be a fair comparison. The world banking system handles orders of magnitude more transactions.

Apple is transitioning to a new business model where they give you the phone for free and use it to mine Bitcoin. Since each Bitcoin they mine will be worth $1T, they’ll more than make up for any loss in revenue.

It's hard to fathom a company which prides itself on environmental awareness wanting anything to do with crypto currency
If you just think for a second, it is incredibly easy to fathom. Apple will make a clean crypto, or make existing crypto cleaner. Tech was an incredibly dirty business, and still is, except for the largest tech company, Apple, who is carbon-neutral and is on its way to a closed-loop supply chain.

When's this big dump I've been hearing about since 2010 going to happen? Kind of weird every major tech company and big bank along with governments are embracing blockchain technology to solve issues traditional computing couldn't.

This big dump literally happens every year and they wipe out almost all the newbie poors and the long time rich people keep getting richer because they hold nearly all the coins and they control the exchanges. Don’t try to play games with misinformation because these pump and dumps, manipulation and control of the supply are well known.

There are ZERO banks who run payment on blockchain because it’s inefficient, doesn’t scale and isn’t private.

Dont play games with misinformation. We aren’t stupid like crypto cult members and casino addicts.

Any company dealing with financial instruments would be foolish not to hire crypto talent or investigate its future value and implementation. Crypto is not going away, regardless of its risks or illicit applications.

I would be happy to see all cryptocurrency outlawed worldwide. They are good for criminals and bad for the environment. We don’t need them.
This is a bit of a naive take.

1. Fiat is used for criminal activity far more than Bitcoin/crypto.
2. Crypto is extremely traceable.
3. Not all blockchains run on proof of work. Proof of stake uses 99.7% less energy.

Bitcoin: consuming more electricity than Argentina to allow criminals to thrive.
You remember when the internet was supposed to be the domain and hive of criminals and pedos? How the internet was going to end up using so much more energy then everything else to support this villainy?

Yea... how did that internet thing turn out? was it as horrible it was made out to be?

Not in relative terms it's not.

2. Crypto is extremely traceable.

I don't even know what "extremely" means here, but no, you can't "trace" a leaf node in a Merkle tree to anything. What makes that data structure compelling is that it's impossible to retroactively alter; you can only append. So, you can do further transactions, but you can't pretend after the fact that a certain transaction didn't happen.

You cannot, however, directly trace a transaction to a person.

3. Not all blockchains run on proof of work. Proof of stake uses 99.7% less energy.
You know what else uses many nines less of energy? Actual currencies.

The Internet turned out to have an abundance of terrific use cases.

Cryptocurrency / blockchain has yet to produce a single one.

It's so funny how you can pick out people who missed the boat just by reading the comments, stay classy guys 😄
It’s not really “missing the boat” if you deliberately don’t go to the dock or buy a ticket because the boat is called “titanic 2” and the route is via the North Pole.

I never regretted one moment getting on that dock or getting on that ship :)

Some gamble and win, some gamble and lose, that's just how it is. It was just a general remark of mine because of the salt in this topic, maybe some people drank the sea water and got dissapointed? 😂 (Not directed at you, but just a pun I couldn't leave)
