Nothing friggin works! I can't go 2 feet away with Blue Tooth, USB was always flaky (the specs say 128 devices should work in a chain or tree arrangement, yet I've never owned 1 hub that's reliable). Firewire disconnects, endless sleep/wake problems, overheating everything, push request problems (I still don't know what that means). *ugh* :(

No problem with wifi disconnects on this 2013 mba 11". Although, file share copying over 802.11ac is still just as pathetic as always. Sad. :( At least Anand found that as well and maybe he has a bit more pull with apple.

Apple is always adverse to improving basic functions such as the ability to wirelessly connect to the net via wifi.

They are adverse to fixing Apple Mail.
they are advers to fix address book
They are adverse to improving copy paste, unchanged since OS 8

More interested in esoteric issues of no consequence

They're averse to all those things. Not adverse.

Copper is king

Always with the WiFi.. Always

I guess Apple just hates WiFi.. Or is it the other way around? :p

WiFi just sucks in general - even when it works perfectly it's dog-slow compared to a Cat6 connection.

"Oh damn, the neighbor heated his tea in the microwave two hours into my DVD ISO download - start over."

So if this is not a hardware issue, why does Apple need the "problematic units" to study?

SOP with new hardware releases. They collect units to test them to determine if it is hardware or software. They do the same thing with everything. I've had possibly defective mobile devices swapped retail for the same logic, especially iPads.

As soon as the problem is fixed, the new MacBook Air will be looking better than your 2012.

Oxymoron:

A figure of speech in which incongruous or seemingly contradictory terms appear side by side; a compressed paradox.

I dont see any big problems while they give new one within days, i have gave dell and samsung laptops with fcked up HDD and i needed to wait for 3 weeks. Next laptop will be macbook, till now inlove with iphone 5 and ipad mini

I imagine it's going to be like the video problems on the early 2012 Mac Mini at launch. Which, Apple also issued replacements and all that stuff over as well... In the end, it was nothing more than a firmware problem.

One software update later, and the problem is gone!

Similarly, not everyone had that problem, either... So, this still might not be hardware.

All good here

No problems here. Had an 11 inch that I returned only because it was too small and wanted the longer battery life. Now have a 13 inch and have had no issues with WiFI connectivity.

Update your router firmware or get faster internet. I am pulling 60+MBPS over WiFi. Quit the "poor me" act.

Well being on the 'cutting edge' you might get hurt.

I'm glade Apple is doing it's part to rectify this for customers and find the cause of the issue.

Kinda wish my new iMac had the new WiFi standard as I've now gone back to Ethernet which is faster for the LAN connected HDDs.

i am really curious if this issue happens with a d-link router or with apples routers..

Good, now why can't they take the Retina image retention issue just as seriously?

No issues with mine here.

I did receive a call from an Apple Engineer out of the blue last Friday asking if I was having any trouble with mine though.

I have no 802.11ac router, how can i test my Macbook its have wifi bug or not?

No Wi-Fi problems since I got MBA 13'' on 6/12

I've had my new MacBook Air connected to two different routers and I haven't had any issues. I didn't set up my new Time Capsule 802.11ac router until a few days after I got it with my new MBA so I originally was connected to a rather old router (non-apple).

My mostly old stuff:
MacBook Air 13" (6/12/13)
Time Capsule 3TB (6/12/13)
MacBook Pro 17" from 2008
iPhone 4
iPad 2 (early 2011)
iPod video from early 2006
two Mac Minis from years ago (2005? - 2007?)
20" display (year ?)
iBook (year ?)
original iPod shuffle
iMac original Bondi Blue - I got it the Saturday that they were released in 1998

that's good that apple is trying to fix the issue and supporting their customers. hopefully they fix the issue soon before more new macs are released

This has also been such a long standing issue for Apple that it's NOT good that they're trying to fix it because they have been attempting that for years with brand new chips each time. Why can't they get it right - these are standards at the end of the day.

Ok, to be fair I don't who is really to blame here - whether it's router manufacturers who don't implement the G, N, AC standards properly or whether it's Apple themselves.

It's hard to believe that these are actually standards considering the shocking problems with connectivity.

Weirdly I've never had a SINGLE issue with Apple products and Wifi so I'm always perplexed as to why other people do.
