Apple killed off Flyover city tours but added these guides as a way to advertise streaming F1 on Apple TV.

We’re getting ads in Apple Maps before we even realize it.

It’s not actually exclusive to Apple TV in the US, it’s still available on F1TV. In fact, F1TV is still the only option to get the race in true 4K HDR, which still utterly mystifies me. Normally Apple has the highest bit rates and has default options (HDR/Dolby Vision, Atmos) for free when other services charge extra for it. It’s bonkers that the only F1 option via Apple TV is the gimped quality broadcast.

F1 has been on a downward spiral for years and recent regulation changes have only served to hurtle it further and faster downward.

Very sad.

Ironically, for F1 to solve this problem and regain the popularity it once enjoyed, it primarily needs to ditch the current rules around engines and get back to some pure, petrol-head style racing - instead of battery management and boosts.

Doesn’t seem like that would sit well with Apple given the amount of focus they have on their ‘green’ agenda.

I don’t have anything against F1. I do, however, get sick of Apple jamming it down my throat.
How exactly are they jamming it down your throat? Apple has made ONE movie (which was great btw) and you will never see this experience if you don't look up the F1 Miami Grand Prix.
