I would love this job if I could do it in the mornings. I run/walk 4-5 miles every morning and get bored of the same few areas. It would be fun to go to a new area and get paid to walk around.

Trains and Tubes are empty.

Hardly! Less busy than the insane pre-covid levels, yes, but they're back to being pretty crowded at peak times in London. Some lines have reduced service since the pandemic (lack of staff? lack of funds?) which doesn't help.

Whenever I see pictures like this, I think to myself, "I hope these people are getting some enjoyment out of their work, and I hope they're being compensated fairly for it."

Seriously. I doubt most people's dream is to strap a bunch of equipment to their back and go walking around urban areas for pennies. And stuff like this is obviously contract work of some nature.

Apple, make sure these people are taken care of. You're extracting billions of dollars of value from the work that they do - I hope you're compensating them (and not their contracting company management) accordingly.

Looking at the zones they're weirdly specific. Like one green park outside Birmingham. With the counties mentioned, I thought they were doing popular walking/hiking destinations like the Peak District or Dorset/Devon areas. Nope.

I think it's funny they advertise maps.apple.com - if you go there on a non-Apple device, you can't browse maps like you can maps.google.com. On a Mac it will open the Maps application. It would be nice to have the actual Apple maps in the browser.
duckduckgo.com search engine uses apple maps, so there's that.

Not holding my breath for it round here any time soon... Scottish Highlands we are lucky if we even get above medium res aerial photography for a lot of places still.
I often thank goodness I don't live in the highlands - or islands. Having to pay extra for every delivery.

And the aerial photography is pretty good round here.

(Think we might have a chance of 5G as well, before 2030.)
