Maybe the people who live here, or maybe the millions of tourists we get from around the world every year? Just a thought.
Oh dear lord, it was very clearly just a joke. I just got back from a two year stint in Tucson and I flew in and out of Phoenix many times. A fine place, other than being constantly hot as blazes.

At this glacial pace, we are looking at 2100 to have this live throughout US. 2200 World Wide

If the tech and data collection work, go crazy and let it rip

Hardly. The system clearly works, and works better than Google’s, so all it takes is to throw money at it, which Apple has alpenty.

Also, even Google will have to redo everything from scratch, sooner or later, so Apple is slowly but surely catching up.

For Google maps is a product, for Apple is a feature. Apple can afford to slowly improve maps and gradually increase the numbers of iPhone users that adopt it with time. They are not competing with Google in the classical sense.

Apple Maps won that battle several years ago and dwarfs GM usage on iOS devices, which is what matters to Apple. They are spending billions on constantly improving it, having recently rolled out their own worldwide base map which is wheat is allowing them to release features such as Look Around that leaves Google Maps’ Street View in the dust

All the Californians who left their failing state to relocate in Phoenix.

Oh dear lord, it was very clearly just a joke.

Eh, words matter. Labeling California a "failing state" seems less joke and more regurgitating FOX News talking points. How that was somehow woven into a tech thread about a mapping app is one part impressive three parts lame.

I saw several Apple Maps vehicles well over a year ago in Toronto. Still no sign of when it may come to Canada's largest city.

Anyway they have so much catching up to do, Google just has the market cornered for streetview, in so many places around the world that Apple will never do, or it will take them 10 years.

Too late in the game.

It’s not too late because Google’s StreetView is only as good as its last images. Google remaps most of their Street View images every year. You can see the history. Apple is not only matching Street View features, they’re exceeding them. LookAround is miles ahead of StreetView in appearance and in intuitiveness and ease of use.

I said what I said was a joke... I can't speak for any other users' posts. Seriously, Phoenix has some cool areas. I mean it. Namely the airport, which allows you to leave.
