I don’t know WTF is wrong here in the US with testing.

Well, testing itself is NOT easy. You need qualified staff. You need PPE's that are mono-use. You need an advanced lab to examine the tampon. So there is not really much wrong per se... it's just incredibly difficult.

Now, once those 15-minute tests are mass produced and distributed, things will likely change.

antibody testing

This is the key, not the current swabs.
I might add, I am very afraid of people that will test negative and think that they will be fine in the future, probably causing more infections than ever.

With my past experiences with Apple Maps, there's no way I'm trusting it with anything important like finding a testing site. Too many poor experiences.
I’ve had more poor experiences using Google Maps. Should I not use them either? And I’m sure you’re not going to die if any app leads you on one wrong turn. It’s not like there’s any traffic out there to get stuck in so why not just use the app you’re most comfortable with and move on?

People have still lost all perspective, like my claims or not. Asia definitely has a different style. Our government literally projected deaths (and they are likely to be overstated).

Testing is hugely important when we restart. In the meantime, stay home.

Like you, I distrust heard mentality and groupthink. If you read most posts, they are literally a repetition of what is said on the news. I'm not saying the news is all wrong, but they have a vested interest in scaring you. Some of the outlandish stuff that has been said and repeated in nothing short of absurd.

We go day by day. We try to maintain perspective while doing our part. We don't need to say more people will die than all wars combined, 200,000,0000 Americans will be infected, and use hyperbole like 30X more deadly than the flu with early data.

We also don't need everyone who is sitting at home to run out and get tested. We need people to stay at home. We need testing when we open things up again.

We also need to move toward reopening the economy or there will be far bigger problems than a virus with a 97-98% survival rate (likely even better than that if we had a more realistic denominator).
There is no such thing as Asian government. To distrust the numbers in Japan because of China is too ridiculous for words. As for the US no, the numbers are already too high so the numbers will not surprise anyone because we already pasted where they should have been given all the warning we received. I didn’t think you could top your previous statements but then you said we need testing not now but after we reopen the economy. Of course my only conclusion now is that you’re intentionally being obtuse. Congrats.
