RIP Steve. What an awesome video to commemorate a true legend and a very nice message from Tim. Long live the Apple we know and love. :apple:

Our first home computer was an Apple II plus. 48 KB of memory and a monitor with green text!! Woohoo!

We had great games on it. Loved the "Olympics" game and we eventually added a joystick, a 2nd hard drive, etc. Can't forget Frogger and Castle Wolfenstein! Later I upgraded to a Mac SE when I went away to college. 256 KB of memory and a whopping 8 MHz CPU speed. haha iPhones, iPods, iPads and MacBooks followed.

The ONLY thing I'd change in all of that????

That original $2,000 (approx) we spent on an Apple II Plus (for the computer with extras). Well, I'd rather have invested that in Apple stock at the time. If my math is correct, it'd be about $3.8 million today.

And people always said that Apple was a bad investment.... that "it's time to sell." As far as I'm concerned, I've always loved my/our Apple products.

Apple with Steve Jobs has revolutionized home, personal and portable computing. Regardless of what all of the naysayers say.

This is one thing I love Apple as a company for. Most large companies operate like that - a company. Apple is HUGE, the most valuable company in the world, yet it still uses its HOME PAGE to remember Steve Jobs and not sell something, even only a couple weeks after it's flagship product is released.

It's things like this, that have created such a loyal fan base.

Tim may not be a good presenter, but Steve did trust in him enough to appoint him as the CEO.

Give it a rest. Let people have their remembrances of Steve. He meant a lot to a lot of people, even those who didn't personally know him. This isn't about Tim, it's about remembering a person that had a huge impact on the world. Just let people remember for a little while.

Yes, today is a day for reflection, not criticism. :apple:

Can't believe it's been a year already. Nice for Apple to a tribute to him.

Take your own advice

True.

True.

May I ask why you care of other people are sad?

What do you accomplish by posting this? Are you helping with the problems in Africa? Do you go over there and volunteer? I doubt you do, so I would stop your lil tangent now and get over it. If you care so much how people in Africa, I suggest you start up a non-profit or join one and get over there and make a difference. Then come back here and tell us about it.

There has to be one in every crowd

Doesn't matter if you're a liberal or conservative, you can still care about humanity.

funny. I used that picture just to say...hey youre crying over a guy you didnt know, but not crying over the millions of dying kids in africa.. surely the crying's a bit over dramatic?
anyway.. wrong crowd

You're so wrong. It isn't like I'm sad that he is dead, it is upsetting that someone who had an objective of changing the world no longer can. My career, my education, and my passion have all been related to technology. Some people care about politics, some about history, some art, some science, etc - for me it is technology. There is nothing wrong with having an idol that you don't personally know. If you don't, I recommend you do to better your life and career.

Sorry just cant look up to someone you dont know, let alone contribute such things to him.

"changed the world" edison, einstein , da vince , franklin, bell, tesla,... changed the world, jobs made great consumer electronics. Sorry the iphone really didnt change the world, neither did the ipad.

Indeed, mourning a man who had a very good happy and fulfilling live, and not murning the millions dying of easily preventable causes, peopel who never stood a chance.

Steve Jobs was the creative genius that pushed the tech industry to new heights! Your quirkiness, and stage presence will be missed. Here's to hoping Apple will continue to have the level of insight he did. RIP Steve! - Sent from my MacBook Pro :apple::cool:

In case anyone is wondering, the music is Suite No. 1 in G major, BWV 1007 by Johann Sebastian Bach. Played by Steve's friend, Yo-Yo Ma.

It's the first track on Classic Yo-Yo.

I like Bach quite a bit, but this one has been played to death. Why not just use Minuet in G while you're at it, Apple? or maybe a little Pachelbel? :p

Although it turns out Bach didn't write the Minuet in G

Sorry, but I think the iPhone did change the world. You need to think about the full impact of this product on america and the world and you'll see the truth of it.

This one product (alone) is Steve's legacy to the world.
