Definitely some downsides to OLED. They get burn-in and die over time so your screen eventually loses brightness and dies.

Smartphones have become mature products and people are starting to replace them less frequently. This is Apple's strategy to guarantee regular turnover - a screen that falls apart after 2-3 years. LOL!

Until Apple begin using them, at which point I guarantee you people here will tie themselves in knots trying to justify their change of course.

Well, I am a fan of Apple and I am not happy about this change of course towards OLED. I doubt that I will change my mind about this later either as I don't replace my phone that often and the screen decay may end up biting me.

Actually, the data says otherwise. People are falling into a greater rhythm of replacing them every other year or even every year. The new plans at Verizon, AT&T and Sprint even encourage this more.
