The article and your comments make sense in different ways. The article makes sense because current iPad Pros have been in great position technologically as a laptop or Mac alternatives and do not need any other updates for several years. Your comment makes sense for me and others with the same logic. I rarely use iPad Pro at all. iPhone and Mac are enough! With iFold coming, my iPhone user experience will change with iPad experience wherever I go with only 1 device and can be put in my pocket. I do not like to carry two devices with almost similar features. So, iFold is a perfect dream device. I do not see Apple removing iPad lines because they serve other customer needs.

Does anyone really need an ipad stronger than the M6 coming out end of this year or beginning of next year , vapour chamber is long overdue, take articles like this with a large pinch of salt , no iPad Pro planned for years but next release end of this year of beginning of next year.

The difference is starker with the 2021/2022 iPad Pros, which were thicker and heavier, and with a more prominent camera bump, and on the 13” 2024/2025 the thinness is also significant even when compared to the 2018.

Very unlikely. Touchscreens are uncomfortable for a display at eye height.

iPad Air M4 is a couple of weeks away, so compute power won’t be that different. Storage is something to consider. Thunderbolt doesn’t matter much unless you are doing video and camera work - which is the real use case for the iPad Pro these days. For general iPad work (documents and such) and content consumption, it work exactly the same. I know because I have owned both concurrently
Agreed. Now that you can’t find the Apple Pencil 2nd gen anywhere, the only option for my basically brand new M2 iPad Pro is the cheap USB-C Pencil.
Me too - I'm happy with mine and don't want to be tempted by an upgrade any time soon.

The iPad Pro M1 I have is fast enough for the whole apple creative suite, If Apple succeed in making the invisible fold, then a foldable iPad pro would be awesome Folding out a phone is one thing, but folding up a iPad is entirely another and would make the iPad at foldable powerhouse.
Not surprising really, the only big upgrade it will get next will be a folding design. The iPad mini will get the big update this year. But the screen on the iPad Pro is just simply stunning. Best one Apple makes and beats all others including the Pro Display XDR.
The iPad Pro should not exist. The iPad Air and iPad Pro should merge into 1 product, keeping the best of Pro and ditching the worst of Air, and cost $100 less than it does today. And that should be the story of iPad. It is a good product, with a good role, but it is never going to take over computing. People's long-ago imagination about the tablet being the end-game form factor for computing simply was not true.

Seriously though, Tim Cook likes going for long periods of time without an update while still charging the same prices as on release day. It’s part of his greedy strategy to maximize profits by giving consumers less for their money.

Besides a speed bump and marginal upgrades, what else can they really do? Make the cameras a bit better?

Agree completely. Just a hunch but if they took that approach and created a wider keyboard to accommodate, I bet the wider setup would minimize the wobbling effect.
Only reason to upgrade my current iPad Pro is if it stops woking or physically breaks. Does everything I need it to.

The limitation of iPadOS is killing iPad Pro and the only reason to use iPad Pro is the display, nothing else.

I have no interest in an iPad fold, but what I’d really like to see is an iPad mini that unfolds into a larger iPad. It would probably be over $2000 though lol.
