if you have one of the models that is constrained. but chances are its just one model like the Sprint Black
[doublepost=1516513105][/doublepost]

did you actually have a failed diagnostic. Or did they just order it the battery because you asked them too. Because apparently that's happening a lot and personally I think its ********. they say that the software only kicks in when the battery condition falls under a certain mark (like 75% or something). so instead of a discounted battery replacement for anyone that bitches and moans, it should have been a free one for anyone that comes in with a battery that's under whatever that kick in level is. Cause those are the folks that really need it, not the bitching folks who probably have great batteries and some other issue going on.
I had a failed diagnostic on mine and my wife’s they had issues with the software on there side so they just scheduled it as well.

I did some test with a few battery apps and I’ve had results as low as 35-45% battery life. After a fresh charge it will usually ready 75-80% let it run down a bit and it goes to crap and things start falling apart.

Reading threads like this makes me wonder how I've managed to have zero issues with my launch day 6+. It's the best phone I've had and I still have no desire for an upgrade.

I want to take advantage of the battery replacement for my 6 Plus but it has a lightning port problem that means I have to use a rubber band to keep the cable in place to charge (I've cleaned dust out of the port and it' still like this). Any clue if the port can be replaced, and/or if Apple will still replace the battery if the faulty port probably will prevent their diagnostics from running properly?

brought mine in for diagnostic and they tapped danced around all of my problems including a Touch ID that hasn't worked since I updated the build. I wouldn't trust Apple any further and refused to leave my phone with them . I can live with the lagging and entering my 4 digit pin to unlock the phone but when I upgrade to a new phone I might consider Android....something that I never would have entertained in the past being a brand loyalist. But not anymore. Apple has been quite phony and disingenuous.

If you have the AT&T warranty plan, they already are doing it. In fact, we had so many issues out of warranty with a 6, that AT&T gave us a 7, no questions asked. Only down side, was no headphone jack, my g/f was not happy about that, but she is getting use to carrying and using the dongle.

How about those of us that couldn't keep using our 6+ phones and had to buy new phones rather than pay $325 to replace the defective one?

I guess we just got the Apple screw job on these phones. The Genius Bar guy knew it too.......

Hello all.

Just sharing my experience.

I am based in Portugal, and early next week I sent my iPhone 6+ 128Gb to get replaced, under the full equipment replacement program (the iPhone was dented, the screen was broken in two places, and the battery was, for sure, needing replacement). The cost of this equipment replacement was €444,95 (around $535).

This 6+ was bought in the USA back in 2014, and was locked to AT&T - but worked perfectly with an european SIM.

Friday afternoon I received a 6S+, some colour, same 128GB, model A1687 - not sure if it is locked or unlocked. Works perfectly with my provider.

:) Happy Apple customer, even knowing I was a "victim" of circustances!

Wow they are spending a lot of money on this issue.

They could honestly do less. We already know they messed up. The damage is done.

If it were me, I'd stop at the reduced battery costs.

Well it's a good thing you're not in charge...

While damage was done, it's not permanent, unless of course, you were running the show.

Second, this article suggests battery inventory for 6 Plus doesn't exist or is very low in supply, it would cost more for them to ramp up production for a discontinued part then to simply replace the phone with a 6S Plus. So simply stopping at reduced battery costs doesn't do much if said battery doesn't even exist for a consumer to purchase.

They should've automatically upgraded ALL 6 Plus owners after selling us that under powered, cheaply built trash we spent a lot of money on. Nope, instead they gave us another one and demanded $150 more...

And they should do the same for iPhone 6. New batteries for it are just ********, I don't think it will last any longer after wasting $29.99 on it.

Any clue if the port can be replaced, and/or if Apple will still replace the battery if the faulty port probably will prevent their diagnostics from running properly?

A third party might offer to Frankenstein a new port on your phone but officially no it can’t be replaced. Given that Apple is letting folks with almost perfect battery test results replace their batteries they will probably let you waste your money and do it too.

Got a 6 PLUS sitting in a drawer with the TOUCH DISEASE IC issue. The phone was replaced twice by APPLE and still has the same issue - each replacement (paid to apple) has failed. May bring this device in for another swap to a 6S which is more sturdy and less prone to the IC issue...

The same case here. I gave my first i phone 6 plus at january 2017 back cause of touch disease, i paid 180 euros and after 9 moths the new phone start had the same problem again.

I'm on the battery replacement list for my iPhone 6 plus scheduled to be available late March or Early April. They better replace my device if my touch ID stop working or else they will be losing a customer. My wife had her battery replaced on her 6S Plus and the Touch ID became unresponsive and they gave her a new 6S Plus. All of these issues could have been avoided if they didn't institute throttling. lol

They dont care about ONE customer. Im so disappointed from they way that they treat me. First they blame me cause they found an invisible bend, and later that the guarantee was only 3 months. What i bought? a crap?

Interesting how there are reports of customers getting good customer care if they don't care about even one customer.

If you have a damaged iPhone 6 Plus that qualifies for a whole-device replacement, Apple may replace it with an iPhone 6s Plus through March, according to an internal document distributed to Apple Authorized Service Providers today.

iphone-6s-plus-front-back.jpg

Apple specifically states that "orders for whole unit service inventory of some iPhone 6 Plus models may be substituted to an iPhone 6s Plus until the end of March 2018." MacRumors confirmed the memo's authenticity with multiple sources, who requested to remain anonymous due to their positions.

Apple doesn't specify which iPhone 6 Plus models are eligible, nor does it provide a reason for the substitution, but it likely relates to Apple's shortage of iPhone 6 Plus replacement batteries until late March to early April.

A previous internal document obtained by MacRumors states that Apple no longer manufactures the iPhone 6 Plus, so it likely has to reboot its production lines to replenish its supply of both the device itself and batteries, which would certainly take time. Apple did not respond to our request for comment.

It's possible that some customers who have visited a Genius Bar recently opted for a whole-device replacement rather than waiting until March or April for a new battery, which may have depleted the little supply of iPhone 6 Plus replacement units that Apple had, but this is only speculation on our part.

Apple and most Apple Authorized Service Providers can replace an iPhone's display, battery, speakers, rear camera, or Taptic Engine individually, while a defective Lightning connector, faulty logic board, and most other repairs are generally eligible for a whole-device replacement, our source said.

Your mileage may vary depending on the exact damage to your iPhone and the results of Apple's diagnostic tests. Apple Support can be reached on the web or by scheduling a Genius Bar appointment. Apple Authorized Service Providers can be searched for on Apple's Find Locations page under Service & Support.

[doublepost=1516772574][/doublepost]I am waiting for my replacement battery. I was left a voicemail yesterday by Apple saying I have to wait March/April. When at the Apple store, he told me they have the battery, but needed the matching device on hand as well in case the battery repair accidentally “broke” my phone and made it unusable. Took my name and put me on the service que. The call yesterday was them telling how much longer I have to wait. My initial visit was a January 3rd. Today is January 23rd.

Thanks, the port is more important for me than the battery, but if I can get it fixed then an extra $29 for a battery that'll make it run well for a friend or family member to replace their Scamsung is hardly a waste.

An update to my issues with my wife’s 6s and my 6splus. Went to the Apple store to get her battery replaced because hers came in, mine was still two months out. I dropped of the phone and they told me it was a 1-3 hour window. I told them it would be nice in the email from support that maybe they tell you this? Anyways I drop the phone off and while waiting for a call I go do some shopping. After an hour and a half I hadn’t herd anything so I proceed to get a coffee and go sit in front of the stor e and wait. Turning the corner I see about 40-70 customers and staff standing outside the store. Long story short they had a battery issue in the service area that caused An evacuation. After another hour they finally cleared it for people to return to the store.
What they did next was interesting and amazing. They came out and offered anyone that was waiting for their repair the option to come back or to replace the problem battery phone with a new/refurbished. May not sound great for some but after getting my wifes replaced I asked if they had any 6splus they could swap mine out with because o wasn’t sure I could wait two more months to get a battery. She ran another quick diagnostic test and in two minutes returned with a replacement phone for myself at no charge!
So the yes I spend five and a half hours at Apple and missed my car appointment but we were able to replace both our phones.

It’s nice to see Apple take care of customers when they have issues like this. I guess
Sometimes you take the good with the bad

Maybe this phone will get me by for another year or two?

[doublepost=1517683749][/doublepost]Well, I qualify for this program. But Apple claims no knowledge of it, nor does my local repair facility. Now what?
