At the risk of crappy puns, something is rotten at the core of Apple.

Feels like they can’t deliver lately.

In the early days of AI, Apple is like Nokia at the dawn of touchscreens — out of touch with what people really want.
I honestly thought Apple had delayed their AI implementation in order to “get it right” and eliminate hallucinations to provide a better product.

Then their AI started getting news headlines and text summaries disastrously wrong. Not to mention, their email management kept burying the emails I truly needed to read in order to surface garbage emails that still continue to get through Apple’s junk mail filter.

Apple’s AI is just as loony (if not more so) than existing solutions. It is disappointing to me.

It seems like Siri has been standing still for five years. I can't recall anything new that I've been using it for that I wasn't already

I'm still trying to figure out the point of this device. Is there something it can do that I can’t already do in the Home app?

Another gurman lie. This guy is getting paid to spread misinformation. Few months later he will say, “apple just quit developing this device”. And will justify himself. In reality, apple never started the development. Lol.

I genuinely do not see the selling point of a product like this. The commands one can do on an iPhone or iPad are the same as this rumored device. I very rarely are without my phone, therefore I can control the smart home products I need to control. In the case of the “Home Hub” I would be required to neglect pulling my phone up and walking over to an area where the “Home Hub” would be located.

I could see a use case for a “Home Hub” in a kitchen where touching a iPhone or iPad wouldn’t be ideal due to unclean hands or stirring, to set a timer or read a recipe, but other than that, what is the TRUE point of this, “Home Hub”? Even when my iPhone is charging it is conveniently accessible. This device seems more and more like a simple money grab for Apple diehards who demand a “new” product, eventhough it the devices they already own can, reportedly, do MORE. “You can attach the “Home Hub” to a wall, TO FACETIME, who needs an iPad?”

Another delay of an unannounced product. Maybe Apple should just focus on their current hardware.

Is it an “unannounced product delayed” or is it another “inaccurate product rumor”. We aren’t talking about something Apple has even hinted about. We are talking about product rumors based on partial truths and fevered dreams. Meanwhile, Apple has been working on their current hardware. Go to the MacRumors Product Guides and see how many products are rated “Buy now” because they have been recently refreshed. Honestly, the speed at which Apple is revving its silicon is impressive. The first product with an M1 chip went on sale a little over 4 years ago. Here we are with a battery of products using M4 chips and anticipating the announcement of the M5 this year.

Home as a smart hub needs a serious UI overhaul, and I think it recently got something of one from a framework standpoint, but the UI is nowhere near what it needs to be if it was to be a focal point of a device like this.

So, they just realized the hub was another red herring, but they can’t say “tricked by Apple again” so it’s “they’re going to delay it and you’re not going to ever hear us talk about it again because we’re hoping it fades away and that you never remember we mentioned it”

I think the issue is that Amazon is TOO dominant in the home automation market. Amazon got there first with their Alexa home automation protocol and practically every manufacturer who builds a home automation device supports Alexa connectivity.

I don’t have any smart home gadgets so I don’t know if this device would be useful or not but I do like the Amazon and Google home devices.

I don’t know why Apple are so far behind on what seems a relatively simple technology.

Smart Home hub was a worthless idea to begin with. It needs to go out the way of the Apple Car.
