Is there a certain percentage of changes that make something a "new phone"?no - just minor changes but it's not a new iphone.

Maybe, but the design is very similar and could be considered a 6SS by many so the power of the 2 year cycle is still not in effect. Remember that new hardware design is what is driving mostly the cycle because there is no more 2 year contracts for almost anyone. Many just trade back at the year and get the new one now w the new programs so it's not necessarily correct to say that you can base it on increased user base when trading back models to stores is the norm. Before people resold them after two years to other people and the old phone increased the user base, but now that is not happening as much. Third party to third party Non company resell of used cellphones is in decline.
Come on, it's a 6SS. It has as much change as an S model vs original has.

It's not that many. Most of the ones that wanted it had it or where waiting for their order to be delivered. They will all get the fixed phone. There was no return of cost for the recall.
We'll soon discover on the earnings call.
As for Samsung, the blow is tremendous. In every flight I hear cabin crew asking for generic "samsung phones" to be switched off, or closed in special fireproof cases. Chinese national TV accusing Samsung of discrimination. Fires on national news linked to Samsung gear.
This is going to drag down Samsung sales for a long while. Impact on Apple sales? I have no idea, but what we're seeing so far with the iPhone 7 is the story of a massive, unexpected hit.
it would be a complete redesign.
Again car companies do this quite often. But they don't call it a new design. they call it a "refresh"
the iphone 7 is a refresh of the iphone 6.
Or is it?That's not true at all. The iphone 7 is not a hit. It's selling less than the iphone 6S. http://www.forbes.com/sites/ewanspence/2016/10/03/iphone-7-sales-first-two-weeks/#4f345640542e

well beyond to call it an iPhone 7 (based on hardware changes when naming a new number), sorry nopeSo, just to make sure, you are saying there weren't changes in the external hardware (well beyond what any S model has had)?
Why not? Apple decides to call their devices whatever it wants to call them. It's certainly not an S version given what S versions have been.well beyond to call it an iPhone 7 (based on hardware changes when naming a new number), sorry nope
nah, according to the reports its selling off the shelves pretty good now that its 'fixed' . Remember that it is also one of manyyyy Samsung and manyyyy other android devices. Hardware sells are much lower total than iPhones due to variety. We'll soon discover on the earnings call.

check older S versions to see you are wrong. thanksWhy not? Apple decides to call their devices whatever it wants to call them. It's certainly not an S version given what S versions have been.
Just saying something doesn't just make it so. Care to actually provide some information? Thanks.nah, according to the reports its selling off the shelves pretty good now that its 'fixed' . You are the one that says it has more changes to classify it as new hardware vs S models. You have to defend your own post.Just saying something doesn't just make it so. Care to actually provide some information? Thanks.![]()
Ah, so nothing to backup the "wrong" claim. Got it.You are the one that says it has more changes to classify it as new hardware vs S models. You have to defend your own post.![]()
Ah, so nothing to backup the "wrong" claim. Got it.
As for the differences, considering that they can be seen and are obvious seems rather silly someone would need them to be pointed out. The different camera design, the different antenna band placement, the complete removal of the headphone jack, the addition of a stereo speaker, a new non-physical home button that works differently.
And this all after saying "as much change as an S model vs original has" now it's simply onto "nothing big". Not quite the same is it now. And the single iPhone 5s TouchID change is more than multiple iPhone 7 changes? 1 is the same as more than 1? And I'm the one that's "wrong".oh Kanye I didn't know you were a poster in MR.
Thanks for proving my point, in other words: nothing big... the 5S had touchid and other stuff that change wise was bigger and that was just one S model. BTW, you are the one battling people not wanting to see what most see, that the iPhone 7 was not a big change.

what? your straw-man arguments are mad funny. I won't continue dealing w/ nonsense. You can tell yourself that you 'won' in your head if that makes you feel better of being wrong, just know that its wrong. Enjoy your iPhone 6SS.And this all after saying "as much change as an S model vs original has" now it's simply onto "nothing big". Not quite the same is it now. No wonder the ad hominems came out. Not much of an argument there.

It will be new watch straps ...I hope it's because of the announcement of new Macs.
