I would like to know too if this gift card can be used to fully pay or somewhat finance part if the family plan...

It would be great if they came out with a $150 gift card for the family plan though I suspect they already view the $14.99 price as a discounted rate.

Did not realise the UK pricing was converted exactly from dollars to pounds without conversion!

Means the UK pricing works out at $13.38 per month.

No surprise there really.
Actually, that's a comparison of apples and oranges. Sales tax will be added to $9.99 while £9.99 includes VAT. So you have to compare $9.99 to £8.325 (= $10.93).

Yes it can (or apps for that matter), they do not earmark the credit for music-only. To that end this is nothing more than a discounted iTunes gift card, just with a psychologically creative spin by the marketing team. I wait for other promos or holiday events to stock up on iTunes credit for 60-80 cents on the dollar.

Just like the iBooks gift card or App Store gift card. It's all one account.

That's what I'm doing now, but the best I got was £15 for £12.49 on eBay recently. I can't find any offers from mainstream retailers at all. Let me know if any pop up! ;)

Last week I saw WH Smith offering 20% extra free. So £100 card got you £120 credit. May still be available.

Apple Music is actually worth it for me. The curated playlists are just that; I've been more impressed with Apple's playlists over all others. Being integrated into the music app makes it even better. I still purchase my music, but I love hearing before buying.

The most I'd pay for their interface and crappy algorithms would be $2/mo.

I wonder if I buy this card for my family plan, what would happen. I just pay the difference? It won't accept it?

Is there a way to convert pre-loaded iTunes credit from before into a 1-year subscription now?

I wonder if this really forces you to subscribe to AppleMusic for a year, or maybe it's just a $119.88 iTunes card that they sell for $99.00?. So perhaps it can be redeemed for anything. Like iBooks gift cards are really just the same as normal iTunes cards.

I usually stock up on iTunes cards on Black Friday at Best Buy for 20% off...but this is nearly the same value.

£9.99 includes the VAT, though. So still around $9.99 goes to Apple / record labels.

by buying iTunes cards when they are 20% off, I get apple music at a 20% discount which comes out to 95.95 a year.... so i'm not buying this card....

I love that you can pay for Apple Music using iTunes credit. Currently paying $14.40 AUD a month family plan here in Australia because iTunes gift cards are always 20% off down here in Oz ;)
Yeah and I only buy iTunes gift card with 20% discount, or 20% more credits, a most recent campaign in some Woolworths store. This campaign ends today.
[doublepost=1473120355][/doublepost]For me it it pretty annoying as after I redeem iTunes gift card, it shows a pop up "persuading" me to subscribe Apple Music. Ugh. :( although I don't buy iTunes gift card like daily grocery.

The $99 Apple Music Card from Ebay had an additional $5 discount, not to mention no tax. When I rolled my code into Apple account I could use it for extending my music service by 12 months or just add it to my store account. I did the music extenstion because I really don't buy much from the store these days. I don't have time to spend looking for discounted iTunes Gift Cards. I am good till Sept 30 2017.

I am interested in this deal, but it's time to renew my Amazon Prime. The $99 to them seems to be a better value.

Amazon Prime Music is horrible, so is Amazon Prime videos. It's like dining at McDonalds compared to a real restaurant. And everyone gives free shipping with cheaper prices than Amazon now. $99 is a ripoff.

So, I'll opt for the combination of Apple Music and Netflix and get the best.

Anyone used on family plan?

If you use it on a family plan, it will simply add $99 to your iTunes account. It won't work to extend a family plan.

I did that but it did not work. I had to use crappy iTunes and I had to put my password in about four times but after it still shows Apple Music renewing on Sep 8th 2016 and my account says I have a Apple ID balance of $99. I called up customer service had him remove the number and we did it again on the phone again using the music extension but nothing changed. Still says Sep 8th 2016 with a $99 Apple ID balance. They said to call them back on my renewal date if I get charged the normal monthly rate. A real mess that I could not even do it on a web browser unlike every other service out there.

Stupid question: Does Apple just add to your existing iTunes credit? I usually purchase iTunes GC's when they're 15-20% off. Currently I have subscriptions to AM, HBO NOW, Starz and NYTimes.

Or will buying the card simply go towards my AM subscription?
