All that "apple's marketing machine" does right now is infuriating people who are already upset with Apple Music not working correctly. So I think Spotify should be around for a while. Kind of how Ping didn't do anything to Facebook's dominance.

I'm loving my experience so far and I assume most do, those that are upset will likely be the most vocal anyway

if it worked on my sonos system, that'd be much better. "by the end of the year.." blah blah blah blah

I have no had that problem...hmm...I agree though, it does feel beta a lot of the time...

There are horrible bugs in Apple Music at the moment. For example, sometimes trying to increase the volume of a song, the sound won't match up to the sound slider until I scrub through the song. Then all of it sudden the sound jumps to the correct volume. Add the crashes, freezing, and other bugs like the app saying the song playing but nothing is happening, or a song will play for 20 seconds before it automatically skips to the next song, and Apple Music totally feels like a rushed beta product. How it got released in this state is beyond me.

I actually have seen a few bugs.. repeating a song instead of advancing... beats1 not starting up... a large delay when selecting music till it begins to play...

I agree. If they don't fix it before the early adopter's trial is over (end of September), it will be the beginning of the end of it. I see people going back to Spotify. And once they leave, they aren't coming back. They're not going to give Apple a second chance. Apple is very mistaken if they think they can leave it broken for years like Apple Maps and expect people to subscribe when a much better competitor has a free tier.

Except that it's not, in fact broken. I use the service every day. Every day. I have had so few issues with it. I do, however notice that many of you who are trashing it seem to be very new to MacRumors. Hmmm...

You make the rest of us Apple enthusiasts look like dopes by association. Apple Music is flawed beyond belief. Match is completely broken. You can't create new playlists with ease by simply choosing a song that's playing. They can't even get the simple stuff right.

I really like those ads.

Hopefully the bugs will get squashed by September when this launches on Android. Also, with Apple Music launching on Android, does anyone know if this brings the iTunes store directly to the platform? (I know you can sync an Android phone to iTunes on a Mac or PC).

So you're saying that Apple Music is Ping 2.0 o_O

so apple music is about only living artist? but where are the legends like Beatles/Michael/Freddie ?

Why do you say that? Beatles are not available anywhere via streaming but other artists not living certainly are available on Apple Music--Michael Jackson, The Doors, Queen, Jimi etc.

I think it is really great that Apple is now in the streaming music business and it looks like they take it serious with all the ads and what not.

Having said that - it is not for me. I prefer purchasing a new album from time to time and adding it to my own personal library. I just do not like re-curring costs.

What are you talking about? You can add the currently playing song (from a station for example) to a playlist. You can also start a station based on the currently playing song. What did you mean?

I found out by now you can start a station from the song that's playing but only in New/For You tab. The same functionality is present in the (...) menu in My Music, but it doesn't work, it stops the music, displays "Unknown Track" briefly, then just stops everything.

Ping wasn't a competitor to Facebook. They both just happened to be under the loose term "social network".

Besides, Spotify doesn't need a competitor to go bankrupt. They still don't seem to be making any money.
