Except that it's not, in fact broken. I use the service every day. Every day. I have had so few issues with it. I do, however notice that many of you who are trashing it seem to be very new to MacRumors. Hmmm...

I really want to like to Apple music but they are making it so hard to do so. This is the first app that's compelled me to keep a running log of bugs and quirks. It's a mix of confusing user interface decisions, and yes, many many bugs.

What are you talking about? You can add the currently playing song (from a station for example) to a playlist. You can also start a station based on the currently playing song. What did you mean?

Except when you can't. 75% of the time that option is only available after 'adding to my music' for me. One fun bug is that when you add a song from one of Apple's playlists to one of your playlists, your playlist is no longer able to be synced across devices.

Two things to keep in mind when discussing bugs - some people are talking about iPhone and others are talking about desktop. Also, some things Apple appears to be able to tweak/change in place without an app update, and some of the options in the dropdown seem to have changed over time.

So it seems on iPhone the app does what he wants. He must be talking about desktop then because yeah I can't find a way to add to playlist directly either.

There are horrible bugs in Apple Music at the moment. For example, sometimes trying to increase the volume of a song, the sound won't match up to the sound slider until I scrub through the song. Then all of it sudden the sound jumps to the correct volume. Add the crashes, freezing, and other bugs like the app saying the song playing but nothing is happening, or a song will play for 20 seconds before it automatically skips to the next song, and Apple Music totally feels like a rushed beta product. How it got released in this state is beyond me.

I haven't had these bugs.... Weird

I don't know what to say about Apple anymore, having been a customer/user for a long, long time and have owned most o their products.

It just feels like they are spreading themselves thin. The ad campaign - not simple enough using all of those different fonts. And so much confusion about products: keeping so many iPad models and a new large iPad? And the MacBook (new) is really adds confusion because it is thin and light like an Air, but not an Air. An Air is nice, but no retina. Then there is the Pro, which are all Retina, or not?

I don't worship Steve Jobs and all he did, but he chose simplicity over almost everything else. He wanted things to be iconic and he certainly did that with Apple.

I still love my iPhone and Apple still rocks, but with Apple Music it is becoming something else.

Here is the problem I have with the App. It always wants to phone home. I don't get good phone service at work. When I open the app to listen to my music that is on my phone, the app wants to phone home. But it can't because of the signal. And then I get a blank screen for my music, like it's a web app? And then I can't listen to my music.

I'm embarrassed to say I've never heard of her or her music. This is truly the first time, in this thread. She looks okay to me, aside from the rather thick nose ring. Why do people find her so objectionable? Is her music offensive?

Edit to add, I just Googled her. Okay she's engaged to a sparkle vampire. Strike one. She looks completely devoid of any thought or personality or emotion...sort of like the ex girlfriend of the aforementioned sparkle vampire...strike three. And she seems into that weird occult symbolism pop and rappers are into these days. But that can't be the third strike since most people don't pay any attention to that stuff aside from the attention Gaga and Beyoncé draw to it. So what's the deal with all the hate for this woman?

I agree, they've got their fingers in too many pies and nothing "just works" anymore. I don't have trouble with the Apple Music service but then I don't try to do anything with it beyond compile very basic play lists using the simple search function for music I already know about.

Even then one day a song disappeared from my play list and I had to jump through a hoop to get it back.

You make the rest of us Apple enthusiasts look like dopes by association. Apple Music is flawed beyond belief. Match is completely broken. You can't create new playlists with ease by simply choosing a song that's playing. They can't even get the simple stuff right.

Match works fine for me, and I just easily created a playlist by clicking on a playing song. I also created a station using the same method. What's your next "flaw?"

This ad campaign looks nice and all, but personally, I wish Apple would refrain from advertising this stuff until it gets the product working more smoothly.
While you're at it tell every other company to follow suit. Not a single company that I have ever bought products from advertised after everything about the product was perfect.
With that mentality you'd never make it as a business owner that creates their own product for public consumption.

All that "apple's marketing machine" does right now is infuriating people who are already upset with Apple Music not working correctly. So I think Spotify should be around for a while. Kind of how Ping didn't do anything to Facebook's dominance.

Spotify will be dead in 3 years. You can cry now or wait...

I agree. If they don't fix it before the early adopter's trial is over (end of September), it will be the beginning of the end of it. I see people going back to Spotify. And once they leave, they aren't coming back. They're not going to give Apple a second chance. Apple is very mistaken if they think they can leave it broken for years like Apple Maps and expect people to subscribe when a much better competitor has a free tier.

I'm going to bet they won't go back to Spotify, if they ever were there is the first place. Apple Music is expanding the market; which is good for all streamers, even Spotify.

CEO of WD-40 said this in Seattle Times interview:

Q: The world and technology change so rapidly, but WD-40 seems to do well by mostly sticking to its knitting. True?

A: Focus is so important. You have to know what you understand and what you don’t understand. A lot of companies like to diversify but we call it “de-worsify,” where you keep looking for that shiny new penny because what we’re doing sometimes gets boring.

Apple's product is an integrated experience, not an actual physical product, so it does have focus.
What your stating is why Wall Street doesn'T get Apple.
They're not a company that diversifies like Samsung, every piece fits in a larger environment.

Hi Mr Cue,

I kept my paid Spotify subscription and I'm very happy about it. Unless iTunes 12.3/13 comes out VERY SOON and resolves ALL the Apple Music problems, I'm not extending my free trial, but I will probably switch to Spotify Unlimited because I'd kinda like to download music for offline listening.

On the other hand, congratulations on convincing 1.4% of iTunes users to try out Apple Music for FREE, well done!
