Updating to iOS 15 allow to convert almost any song to spatial audio ... pretty incredible !!!
The voice is in the center and with AirPods Max it works very well

I’m not overly sure if this is the feature we’re all waiting on, but I’ve got this in Control Center when music is playing now.

Whilst I don’t think this is the feature we’re all waiting on, I am getting the same “Spatial Audio” effect when I turn my head. And yes, I can certainly hear a broader more spatial sound with it turned on too

That's what I have too and I think it's the feature we've been waiting for.
They apply the same spatial audio we have had with movies for every songs.
I tried a lot of different styles and it even works with music that is not from Apple Music (copied straight to the Music App from macOS).
In French the feature is labeled (translated back word for word to English) "Convert in Spacial Stereo".
So I think they apply their algorithm to every audio source

I find it pretty impressive because every single time the voice stays right in front of me when I turn my head. The spatial does not sounds fake like Boom for example

I like the fact that they skipped the event and just released Lossless and Spatial Audio

Both are now live

Great example of less talk, more action lol

but without announcing, how do we even know?

i see no evidence of it being released in Music, without these forums I wouldnt even know to be looking in the first place

Working for me.

They aren't charging for it, so I guess the are treating it as a free surprise for people, staying quiet

That's cool with me

Doesn't make sense to complain about something that's free (for existing users)

Check new article on macrumour site

Word is spreading , it's a roll out, so gotta be patient

Some people getting it before others. Probably rolling out by country

It's working on macOS for me now but not yet iOS

Still can't complain , it's a nice surprise

There was an announcement that Spatial Audio was launching today but Lossless was supposed to be later this month

So can't really complain that it's come early (for free)

People just need to be patient for it to appear for them

The article only mentions iOS

Been listening to this for a while now. I'm experiencing some hitching with Ariana Grande's thank you, next, but it's unclear if it's caused by an error in the file, network connection issues or a bug in iOS / Apple Music.

Difference in a Dolby Atmos enabled song is noticable when I toggle Spatial Audio. I'm using the "Automatic" Dolby Atmos setting under Settings -> Music, so the Spatial Audio toggle in my Airpods Pro audio controls toggles the effect in Apple Music.

The effect feels pleasant, so I'm keeping it on. None of the songs I've heard so far have felt different enough that I would pay for the feature, so it's great that it's included without extra charge.

This is for songs that indicate "Dolby Atmos". Was there an explanation somewhere what has been done to songs that indicate "Dolby Audio" instead? Is that the automatic stereo-to-spatial conversion? (rather than an actual remaster)
