The Apple Music app for LG smart TVs is today rolling out to users, with LG now promoting the app on social media.

The Apple Music app for LG smart TVs allows subscribers to stream over 90 million songs, as well as playlists, radio stations, and music videos, with no need for any external hardware such as an Apple TV. The app supports a range of core Apple Music features, such as synced realtime lyrics.

The user interface appears to be very visually similar to the Apple Music app for tvOS. The Apple Music app is now gradually rolling out to LG users, with a large number of posts emerging on Twitter showing the new app in action.

It is as yet unclear which exact LG TV models support the app, but it is likely that more recent model years will be supported. Users can find out if they have a supported TV by simply searching for "Apple Music" in the LG content store.

I wonder how will it work, since Apple TV app is just terrible on my LG B9 oled TV. It's slow, crashes and takes ages to load movies (if not throwing an error message).

I love my LG OLED TV but what about "burn-in" problems because of the static logo and layout of the app ?
It is a thing. I have burn in from playing Overwatch daily. A circle and a bar in the middle.

So burn in is still a thing on OLED, no matter if it has software to prevent it built in. Be careful

If Apple is willing to put Apple Music on LGTVs and all, why not allow LGTV stream sound to Homepod? I just cannot understand Apple sometimes…

I have no such problems on my B9. The user interface is not the fastest, but movies are working very well.

Only thing missing from the app was my yacht rock radio. Maybe it's some strange licensing deal with them with no commercials. I looked for it and I didn't find it. Other wise works great. Just got my LG 86" last week. I'll look again later. I obviously have it on my iheart app.

good! this was one reason i renewed with Spotify instead of switching to Apple Music. I have Spotify on my LG CX + C1 but Apple Music wasn't there.

now all they need to do is bring Apple Music to Windows. That's when I'll switch over. I ain't using iTunes or the buggy web player.

do you need your screen on to listen to music?

if you're worried about burn in then use Screen Off. The screen will come back on when you want to change music.

you do know your 11 Pro Max has an OLED screen too? are you worrying about burn in on that when listening to Apple Music?

I think I may know what you’re referring to, but for me it seems like the app even does this on my iPad Pro. Like if I hit Skip on the previews or intro sequences… forget about it, it’s basically the same amount of time to load the next part as if I sat thru those. It isn’t anywhere near the instant satisfaction of doing it on Netflix and I often back out of the video and relaunch it.
