I love my LG OLED TV but what about "burn-in" problems because of the static logo and layout of the app ?
With the regular LG media player app, a screen saver cuts in after a few minutes of listening to music.

Or, you can always turn the screen off while you’re listening to music - it’s just a pity that the “screen off” option is in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying “beware of the leopard”. (Actually, Settings - OLED care - Device self-care - Energy Saving - Screen Off, but near enough...)

Better solution would be to get a sound bar/AV amp with Airplay and cut the TV (and it’s not very good speakers) out of the loop... my sound system is a bit pre-airplay, though :)

You can add "Screen Off" to the quick settings menu or whatever it's called, if you use it often. (LG CX, may differ on other models.)

Has anyone heard when it will arrive for Android TV (ex. Nvidia Shield)?
I am really, really, really, really getting sick of waiting for Spotify HiFi.

HERE'S WHAT I CAN CONFIRM.

On my LGCX with latest updates. The read out for known Lossless songs on Apple Music say, on my Onkyo RZ-50, "48kkz, Unknown" So it doesn't know the bit-depth or bit-rate. This often happens with variable bit-rate stuff. It can also happen with lossless formats. This does NOT confirm Lossless support. No where in the Apple Music app does it have the "Lossless" badge on a song like it does when using an actual AppleTV. I CAN confirm Atmos definitely does not work. Badging or not. As the Onkyo does not switch to Atmos mode.

So it seems, as often is in Apple's media apps world, only half implemented. For now.

I wonder how will it work, since Apple TV app is just terrible on my LG B9 oled TV. It's slow, crashes and takes ages to load movies (if not throwing an error message).
The Apple TV+ app on my 2020 LGTV can’t even consistently remember my progress in shows. I’ve had to delete the app and re-install it multiple times and it’ll remember my progress for a day if I’m lucky. If I stop a show part way through I have to open the app on my iPhone and scroll to where I’m at so it gets saved. Frustrating.

I can confirm that it is available on the following model:
LG OLED55C8PLA (2018 model)

I've just downloaded it. Although I don't think I will use it because I've got an Apple TV 4K hooked up.

Disappointed Apple and Tesla hasn't added it. I understand Tesla not wanting to add CarPlay, but I thought Apple Music and Apple TV+ would be a slam dunk.
I watched Apple TV+ on my Tesla:
1 - Go to the YouTube app in the Theater menu
2 - Search for Apple TV plus
3 - Click on the Apple TV plus channel
4 - On the right lower corner of the main banner you will see "Watch Apple TV" --> click on that
5 - Log in and watch full screen!

You're Welcome! :)

Love it, but it’s missing Dolby Atmos, Lossless and HDR support. Hopefully soon…

Hmmm these seem like good reasons to continue to stream directly from my iphone or ipad to my receiver though I can't seem to get dolby atmos that way either at least I don't have the static image on my TV. Or will the TV's screen saver eventually activate while the app isn't being interacted with?

If the LG AM music App ever gets lossless and or Doblby, wouldn't it be better using the LG AM app on a receiver using ARC vs using airplay? My Yamaha receiver has airplay but I can't stream dolby. It does say it's still lossless though but is it really lossless over airplay?

2021 Nanocell series updated to 3.20.65 from 3.20.30

i cannot find any info about my Tv’s DAC though. Highly doubt it has a 24/96 DAC.

wish: my DENON AVR would get Apple Music, as the damn tv still caps audio at 24/48

It is a thing. I have burn in from playing Overwatch daily. A circle and a bar in the middle.

So burn in is still a thing on OLED, no matter if it has software to prevent it built in. Be careful

Oh dear.

What model is it may I ask? And how long have you owned this particular TV?

so, i have to store my apple-id and password into the tv? where everyone might have access to?
Well I'm not sure how it stores the authenfication, but I logged in using my iPhone on my CX. Use the camera to read the QR code and then log-in on the site with safari.
It was the same process as when I logged into the Apple TV app.

In 'library' I try to acces my cloud music library but can't find it. Or should I authorize first, but where? I use my personal library through iTunes Match and with other Apple Music apps can connect without problems (phone, iPad, MacBook).
If this is with an Apple music subscription only that is a big bummer for me...

I just tried the app on my LG OLED. After a few minutes of playing music, it switches to the normal TV screen saver which shows the date, time and weather. Nice for preventing burn in, but not if you want to see what's playing. Mine is one of the C1 models.

Hopefully the app will add some kind of animated version of "what's playing". I'd also like it if they brought back the old iTunes music visualizations; that would be perfect for a TV.
