These things happen, its just crazy when they happen on this magnitude.

Office 365 had a large issue for our clients this week globally, and then 3-4 weeks earlier.

CloudFlare had a misconfiguration a month ago and it took out hundreds of thousands of sites.

Goes to show you how delicate their environments are regardless of size.

Apple server downtime, must be a worldwide terrorist crisis.
To be honest, my conspiracies brain mode went on full force... was it a retaliation because of TikTok bans or forceful selling? Was it an army of angry young and old Fortnite players that happen to be hackers?

It’s been long since I don’t hear about DDoS attacks maybe because a patch or common defense was found... but there’s always other new ways and weapons.

I hate it when companies blame users "Check Your Internet Connection", as if the problem is with the user. It very well may be, but don't make that the first possibility, make it the last!

Coolfactor,

The above is Cox Cable's Standard Operating Procedure every single time you ever have a need to call them.
It is Never their Network, but always your Equipment,"Oh your on a Mac", "Have you reset your Modem"? etc etc.....

You know Apple has everyones email address why can't they send out an email telling everyone there are issues. Why do we have to scour the internet to find a post like this.
I can easily answer your question. Pity you don't know the answer yourself. Ever see someone's phone with the email icon showing 5,000-10,000 unread emails? That's why!

Often it's an ISP issue, not always the streaming company.

My wife and I had just got into an argument before all of this happened. Not cool Apple.

It happened to me around 20:20 last night trying to watch the banker on Apple TV+ I started to call but 10 mins later it worked again and I hung up 🤷🏽‍♂️

Seriously??? I hope you realize that the internet is being bombarded with usage 100x more than ever due to the pandemic and having to work from home. We're lucky it works as well as it does. ISP's are bombarded and your saying, "Not Cool Apple" as if they should be perfect?

I still can't update any apps in the Mac Appstore. Tried on 2 machines, restarted, logged out & in again. Starts the small circle then goes back to an update button right away.

100x hey? Can you link that stat? Thanks

Completely unacceptable. I depend on email and this is the absolute worst time. Thank God I have a backup gmail account. Thank God for the real engineers over at Google. Cannot even access PURCHASED iTunes content. Apple owes each and every one of us money for this inconvenience.

Microsoft 365 was down for several hours earlier in the week, which was a much bigger deal, stuff happens. And if you think Google never has downtime your dreaming.

Now it works but yesterday was a disaster, disconnected from everything
2nd time in less than a month!

Apple has a massive amount of customers. Sending emails to all of them during an outage is not necessarily a good thing because it consumes bandwidth and system resources. In other cases their internet feed itself could be down so sending an email to customers may not even be possible.
If they sent out emails, I wouldn't have received it since my iCloud email was inherently part of the issue/down
