Hmm okay. Would have been a sweet deal if that were the case. These music "artists" already make way more than they should anyways. Most of the mainstream music is manufactured crap anyways. There's a few exception but I haven't found any in a long time.

The top 1% of mainstream artists do pretty well, but as someone who has been in the indie music biz for a long time and who owns and operates a small label, believe me when I say you couldn't be further from the truth.

Well then perhaps the "1%" needs to share with the other 99%. And I don't mean just in the music bizz. But I guess that would be asking too much now would it. Wouldn't want to deprive them of their undeserved lavish lifestyle now would we? I'm not saying some have not worked hard to get to the top. But the financial unbalance in our society is quite disturbing.

Of course the $1.29 is DRM free for you to have forever. The $9.99 is to rent the music and service synced to 10 devices. Which of course has DRM. Once you stop paying the music stops playing. The $1.29 download will not.

Well it would be nice to pay $9.99/month and be able to download and keep all the music you wanted.

Is the Apple Music supposed to be on 10.10.4 update, please correct if I'm wrong. I had my iMac updated and I cannot find the Apple Music it's available on my iPhone and iPad Air but I encountered some trouble from my iPad no search result showing. Then I cannot find it on my iMac, it that's the case Mac is no longer Apple's priority. I can't believe Apple is doing this faster than I thought ruining the Mac users and loyal customers.

Sure but that is not a viable business model for artists, or the "bad guys" labels. So you go out to eat and spend $10. Go out to eat 1 time less and enjoy the same thing. Really $10 is money people throw away on 2 coffee's a week.

There is yet to be an update for iTunes yet to show Apple Music on the desktop. It's coming.

the somewhat confusing UI that is used to navigate it all.

What's up with apple its confusing UI lately. I hate say the old stand by this would happen if Jobs was alive, but its true. He was incredibly zealous at making sure the UI was simple, and elegant. The Watch OS UI has had its complaints over its UI, some complaints on photos UI, and now this - apple seems to have lost some of its zeal for making UI that doesn't confuse or hamper people.

The service seems awesome and the radio is cool. But the UI is absolutely awful. I have no idea what half of it does and I can't find half the things I want to do.

I thought Spotufy was bad, but this is seriously amateur hour UI design. Realistically, I'll use this only until Spotify come out with a native apple watch app.

The music app to listen to your own music should not launch with a subscription alert!!!!!!

It's like iCloud subscriptions! Apple is gonna have some class action lawsuits coming it's way soon. I have many friends who have been notified about buying more space and have just done it to get rid of the message as it's quite a task to delete and be organised with icloud since the very idea is a confusing one to the non savvy.

This whole subscription popping up in the previously your music only app is another misleading aspect I hate about apple.

It's seems it's tactics are getting more dodgy every day.

I love the industrial design, the company ethics but the software is like some evil business ******** machine that is constantly trying to rob you with something you don't need that will lock you into something you don't actually want through the backdoor.

I don't want android ever but even they seem to only want to sell your private data and are quite open about it. Apple is being sneaky with all these services, some of which are useful for some but Tim needs to take a long hard look at the software design teams choices as business seems to be taking the front seat over common sense.

As for the music app, the only thing i wanted was beats 1 radio, i hate having to curate anything. I wanna listen to track i buy and radio that's it. Spotify type things just don't work for me.

Anyone found a way in "My Music" to sort Album by Album title and not Album by artist?

The design is indeed kind of 'busy' but first impressions are that i like it. UI looks gorgeous on a 6 plus and iPad. Shame i can't use it beyond 3 months till Apple offer student discounts like Spotify.

I like it.

Having been on Spotify for the past year and Deezer for the year before that this definitely feels much nicer to use.

Im finding it easy to navigate.

You - Nice touches for your style of music

New - New stuff Apple recommends

Connect - See un released material

My Music - Where all your stuff is saved for playlists or offline mode

The playlists its selected for me are so far pretty good.

Already been listening to new artists I've never heard of thrown in with the chart artists.

Im a fan so far and for 15 quid a month for myself, daughter, mrs and even the old girl is a bargain.

First impressions are favorable. I like the listening experience to be more or less transparent without a lot of work on my part to figure out what I want to listen to. So for my first experience, I picked the Shinedown song "Cut the Cord" from the new section, and built a radio station from that. Granted, a simple test and by no means proves the worthiness of their playlist features (which I haven't tried and which are the mainstay of Spotify). But I think it is a pretty nice product right out of the box.

When will it be available on OS X and Windows? Tells me to update to iTunes 12.2 but last version is 12.1.2

Yep, just waiting on iTunes 12.2. I went to the Apple Music page and clicked on "Try Now" and then "Upgrade", but it just links to the 12.1.2 download and says 12.2 is "Coming Soon".

iPad app and iPhone app different. iPad no "for you" or "new".

Also Apple watch not able to sync new playlist I have added.

The download page still has 12.1.2 for download, but no longer says that 12.2 is "coming soon".

edit: And "coming soon" is back.

I am listening to the "Chill" radio station and I love it. It just destroys Spotify because the transitions are just so smooth and progressive. The mood is consistent and not jarring as it can be in the Spotify playlists. They may be fewer, but I don't need more because they are what they say they are.

Apple again proves that a closed, curated system is better than an open free for all.

On Spotify, I recently found out that you can hold down on an album cover or playlist and do a quick preview of all the songs. Hold down the album and a screen pops up where you can choose a song to quickly sample for a few seconds. Very convenient because you can quickly see if you like a new artist or album. I can even do this while listening to music and once I let go, it automatically takes me back to what I was already listening to.

That said, has anyone noticed a way to preview an album or playlist on Apple music?

Did not know this, amazing!

It is incredibly difficult to navigate. For example, if I search an album and select a song, how do I go back to the albums selection page? I either get forced back to home or have to sit with options for the single song I selected. Furthermore, the recommendations are at best, piss poor. I will use Apple Music for another week, if my experience does not improve I will be moving back to Google Music.
