Is the Apple Music service working for others using iOS 9 Beta 2? My Music app only shows three options in the bottom instead of the supposedly 5 new ones. I see "My Music", "Playlists" and Radio. Beats One works just fine, I just don't see any way to gain access to this great collection of music everyone is talking about?

If you download a song through Apple Music wouldn't it be the same as downloading "traditionally" through iTunes Store??
No because iTunes store does not have DRM, but Apple Music does. Once you stop paying, the music you downloaded from Apple Music stops playing. It's not download all you can keep, it's renting music.

How iTunes Match works, is you already own the music. You just swap it out for the iTunes stores bit rate. Of which you can keep.

Hmm okay. Would have been a sweet deal if that were the case. These music "artists" already make way more than they should anyways. Most of the mainstream music is manufactured crap anyways. There's a few exception but I haven't found any in a long time.

So I said "No thanks" to the trial, thinking it would still be there, but now it's not, how do I get it back?

Give it a try and see if it works for music downloaded from Apple Music, not through iTunes.
Well as of now you can't actually do what I am describing because the new iTunes has yet to come out. But when it does and it syncs w/ this new Apple Music on the iOS devices, I will give it a try just out of curiosity.

And hey, don't slam me because I have a CD Burner.. Half the reason I haven't upgraded my machine is because I like having a CD Drive, and ontop of that, I refuse to purchase a new laptop with RAM soldered in.

If you signed up for the trial but turned off the subscription service wouldn't that defeat the purpose?
You can toggle the subscription stuff in the settings. I turned it off because it's not something I need on my phone, I'd rather have easier access to my own music there.

As long as the last.fm app is running side by side to iTunes/Apple Music it should scrobble no? If there's no way to scrobble to last.fm that's pretty much a deal breaker for me.

From what I've seen it doesn't scrobble streams. You have to add it to your library, make available offline and play from your library. Then it scrobbles as usual. A bit of a bummer, but still gets you access to all of Apple Music.

Sounds like Spotify will indeed have a time to survive, especially considering the fact they are still operating on a loss...

Yes because of their massive expenditure in growth...

How do the investors expect a 10/100/1000X if they are just focusing on maximising the dividend right now...?

No no, the superstars earn a lot. A business partner/old school friend was in a band that toured the world with Oasis (and others), had some hits, but they broke up because unless you're ultra famous you just about make a living. But coupled with the stress of it all a lot of people bow out to, as my friends did, do other normal jobs.

Well... I have Itunes Match. As far as I could see, all the music that was matched appears on apple music under the label music. I have 24,7 K songs and they were all there. So far so good.

Yeah, that's why I called out Disney by name. That's exactly the kind of content owner I worry about. I don't see that complaining about Disney is the same thing as directing frustration at Apple, though.

Sorry.....the post I responded to begins with "Apple..." You later mention Disney. And then say "They" can change on a whim. My brain connected "they" to "Apple", though you apparently meant to connect it to "Disney". My misunderstanding.

I enjoyed Spotify immensely but gave up on it because they were doing obnoxious stuff like cranking the ads up to twice the volume of the music and pausing the ads if you muted your speakers. As long as Apple Music avoids that kind of crap, this could be a big success.

So given what I've read and seeing the comments here concerning Apple Music it seems the big benefit to the service is that I can listen to any song in full from the Apple Store. If I like the song and/or artist I can go and purchase the song or album off the iTunes Music Store. Which also means I pay $1.29 per song on top of the $9.99/month for the Apple Music service. Apple knows how to play the game.

When will it be available on OS X and Windows? Tells me to update to iTunes 12.2 but last version is 12.1.2

It is incredibly difficult to navigate. For example, if I search an album and select a song, how do I go back to the albums selection page? I either get forced back to home or have to sit with options for the single song I selected. Furthermore, the recommendations are at best, piss poor. I will use Apple Music for another week, if my experience does not improve I will be moving back to Google Music.

Of course the $1.29 is DRM free for you to have forever. The $9.99 is to rent the music and service synced to 10 devices. Which of course has DRM. Once you stop paying the music stops playing. The $1.29 download will not.
