Apple Music is the official sponsor of the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show taking place this Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Rihanna will be the headline singer at the show, and Apple is heavily promoting her upcoming performance.

At 9 a.m. Pacific Time, Apple Music Radio's Nadeska Alexis will interview Rihanna. A live stream is available in the Apple Music app.

Apple has also shared an iPhone wallpaper and Apple Watch face with Rihanna that can be downloaded in the Shazam app on a screen that pops up or by searching for Rihanna and tapping her concert page, but it is not appearing for all users. There are also new #AppleMusic and #AppleMusicHalftime hashflags with a pink Apple logo on Twitter.

Apple shared more ways that Rihanna fans can experience and celebrate her performance across Apple Music in a press release last month.

The Super Bowl kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday.

(Thanks, Chris Weaver!)

It’s not showing up for everybody because only those Apple Music subscribers with at least three albums downloaded have access.

This has got to be Apple's biggest formal dalliance with a musician since that dreaded U2 album rollout. Makes sense given how long it's been since Rihanna's last album, hope she has some big trick up her sleeves...

Didn't they do something with Harry Styles last year?

I'm just hoping with this Halftime Show comes improvements to the service.

In case somebody doesn’t know.. the Superbowl will stream FREE on the Fox Sports App (if you want to watch the game on an iPhone or iPad)

In fact in 2019 this was the only way to watch in 4K I believe. Probably going to be the highest quality way to watch over the internet.

More Faddish Style than Timeless Substance.

Brought to you by the makers of iOS7
.

PS this is a meant to be a cheeky commentary on today's "pop" or "popular" music (and gawdawful iOS7 that still stings) than a specific diss on Rihanna.

Will we see a star like Rihanna perform at the Superbowl 35-40 years after the height of her peak, like The Rolling Stones, the Who, etc.

Time will tell. :)

Priorities in check. And they wonder why they can't get into the AAA gaming market...
Personally I applaud this implementation.

Shazam gets a new feature,
Proper marketing exactly where its exponentially more useful and properly targeting the right demographic of users its best suited for and aimed towards!
And Apple is the sponsor so it further ties into a much larger potential for users to preview the rest of the artists or even Apple's larger music catalog.
Lastly, this wallpaper/theme line feature - is a nice touch to users that are already happy with their trial of Apple Music - if in a trial - to give them a slight incentive to pony up the monthly subscription fee. I'm not kidding myself here but its still a nice touch.

That LITERARY is THE best use of priorities: it doesn't involve ANY other Apple team, developer resources, nor services.

Do you live in a cave? Asking seriously. Rihanna is one of the biggest music acts of the last 25 years. I like a few of her songs but by no means a super fan, but how could you not know who she is?
Yeah, I'm always amazed that people think "I have no idea who this person is" is some sort of indictment on the celebrity, because you're just saying you're not hip at all... but to not know who RIHANNA is and to proudly proclaim it... How can you be on the internet at all in the past 15 years and not know who Rihanna is? She's a huge star and pretty famously a billionaire. You'd have to have been consciously avoiding pop culture for the last decade and a half to not know the name Rihanna.
I was scrolling through these comments just to see if anyone would actually say "i have no idea who this is" and thought, SURELY, that couldn't happen here... but here we are. Maybe it's a joke?

I have heard of her but I also realized the other day that I am generally unaware of popular contemporary music since Fall 2021 and the release of the original iPod after which time I never listened to the radio again and paid little attention to pop music because everything I needed was on the iPod.
