It's not what the term "artist in residence" is aimed at (up and coming ones are).
You are right and that was not what I was referring to in the comment you quoted — I was just adding some context to the use of drops he's known for (over)using in his production style. "Artist in residence" is a poor term for them to use for this as they really won't be able to let a musical artist create for Apple music, it will most likely land them in hot water with other Labels they have partnered with as they are only supposed to distribute and not compete with them.
