Didn't use my HomePod all week and when I tried it wasn't working 😅 Can confirm there was a problem tonight, which resolved itself about 20 minutes ago. Apple's own website said their was no problem with their music service.

It wasn't working for me at that price point… so i switched for now to another service…

I have to say though… Apple music is a a great service… its just i didnt use it enough to justify another subscription at that price.

I was in the middle of listening to a 3-CD box set, Paganini Variations, (purchased on iTunes about 10 years ago) and it suddenly stopped playing and gave the message that it was 'Not available in my country', but then it allowed me to download the entire thing. I just assumed they updated the streaming rights or something.

What's not working for me at all for the past day is Weather on my Apple Watch Ultra 2. It won't show in the widget, it won't load any of the cities I have stored, even after force quitting the app, and even after rebooting my watch. It's really annoying, because where I live the weather is always all over the place. This time of year it can be -15 or 70 degrees.

i Need to make sure my music media from my old CD collection is actually stored locally. I think using iTunes Match and Apple One, Music put them all in the cloud now. right?

It is not fixed right now no, songs have been randomly skipping for me and I have just been in settings wondering if I did something wrong!

Last skipped about two mins ago.

So I'm going to be a diva here and claim the outage today and Friday as my doing. Well okay there's an enormous chance that's not the case, but here's what happened with me. On Friday this is the problem I was having as I typed it into Apple Support Chat:

"For about the past five days, songs ripped from CDs in my iTunes library uploaded to Apple Music's cloud that aren't otherwise available on Apple Music won't play half the time on PlayStation 5's Apple Music app and will just get skipped past. Weirdly though whenever I try playing the same songs on the Apple Music app on my Android phone they play fine. I've had no issue with playback for songs that are directly on Apple Music not uploaded to the cloud via my own library."

This led to a phone call with Apple Support, where they had me take a video of the problem and send it to them, and then told me it was something on Sony's end and to contact them. Well, I thought I would test that by installing Apple Music on an LG TV I have and check if the problem would happen on it too, and sure enough it did. So I called them back, gave them my case number from the previous call, and told them that the problem was actually happening on the app on an LG TV too. They had me take a video of that as well, and then somewhat incoherently told me they'd look into the problem, scheduled a call back with me for Thursday, and, well, sounded something like bothered or irritated as they ended the call. It was about forty-five minutes later that the outage towards the end of the work-day on Friday happened, and now there was this one towards the beginning of the workday on Monday. So, just thought I'd share that for what it's worth.

For those who thought tl;dr I got ChatGPT to summarise it. AI for the win!

The user experienced playback issues with songs uploaded from their iTunes library to Apple Music's cloud, particularly on the PlayStation 5's Apple Music app. After contacting Apple Support and being directed to Sony, the user discovered the problem also occurred on an LG TV. Apple Support acknowledged the issue, took videos for investigation, and scheduled a follow-up call, coinciding with subsequent outages on Friday and Monday.

These people who must grow nauseous at the sight of a library...

Not sure if it was me, but I asked Alexa to play a playlist from Apple Music and it was struggling. So I gave up but tried a little while later (closer to the fixed time) and it worked. Wasn't sure if it was an Alexa thing or Apple Music, but I was blaming Alexa for being an idiot. LMAO

Did not face any issue. Anyway good to hear that the problem has now been fixed

I noticed it for about 5 min. Thought it was my Mini, since I never shut it or the Music app down. I thought a restart fixed it, must've been great timing

Out of the blue I got an alert on my iPhone to update my Apple settings, I canceled out is this related to the music outage?
Now settings is saying to update my Apple ID information?o_O

As of Feb 1, 2024 7:40 pm central standard time the iTunes is still not playing my music on my MacBook Pro!!! I'm glad I found this site to know others are experiencing the same issue before taking it into my own hands! I just want somebody to know the issue has NOT been fixed!

Last night my Apple Music didn't want to play anything but tracks from my library, but this resolved itself after a minute or so.
