Hi,

I don't know why but I just can't seem to be able to access my Apple music subscription on ATV4. It works fine on my Mac and iPhone. When I go to music on ATV4 all it shows me is the crappy radio stations like it does on ATV3. I can see my recently played songs which I have played from my iphone but when I click on them on ATV4 it plays a completely different song. None of my playlists are showing up and neither are any of my songs in my library. I am definitely signed into the same iCloud account as my apple music subscription??

My Apple Music account is working ok, but if I go to add an album etc to my music it warns that Apple Music library must be enabled although it is. :/

Likely a stupid suggestion. But have you gone into the settings app and enabled the iCloud music library option. Settings > Apps > Music

I had an issue getting Apple Music to work also, I tried a restart and that seemed to help.

Only three options in this "music" section and they are 1. Repeat music, 2. Sound check, 3. About Apple Music and privacy

That's odd, maybe try logging out and back in to the account you use for Apple Music then, the option definitely exists, as you can see in the screen below.

Is there a separate account setting for Store and iCloud like on iPhone?
Well, I couldn't say how to initially set them up as mine took the details from my iPhone in it's initial set-up and just added them automatically. But if you go in to Settings > Accounts you should be able to do it there. Mine shows my Apple ID for iCloud and (as I use a different one for it) my old account details for iTunes and App Store.

In total there are 5 options in there for me, from top to bottom. iCloud, iTunes and App Store, Game Center, which all come under the banner of Apple ID then there's Home Sharing which is under Accounts and finally below that under the heading Subscriptions there is a Manage Subscriptions option.

I have explicit songs available in Apple Music on ATV 4 yes.
In your 'My Music' section? How odd. None of the tracks in my library that have the explicit tag, appear in the My Music' section on my ATV4. Kanye West doesn't even appear under artists.

Oh, sorry, I'm not sure about the My Music Section but definitely have explicit songs available in the New section. I'm busy right now, I'll check again in a while and let you know.

Thanks I appreciate it. I've just checked, and I can't see any explicit songs period, even searching the store. There must be a setting to enable it somewhere but it's not in the options.

Just to update - rebooting the device sorted my issue. Strange but true.

Just reset my whole Apple TV and started from scratch. I still can't access my iCloud music library. The option still doesn't exist.

I wonder if the issue is because I am currently registered to Apple Music through my carrier who are providing a 12 month trial. Even though I'm receiving the full Apple Music membership, I'm thinking Apple for some reason thinks I'm not a member.

I guess it could be causing a problem, although I'd have thought of it works on everything else it should be ok. Maybe best to do a live chat with Apple support in case there's some weird issue with it.

Apple escalated me to some product specialist who suggested it is because my carrier (telstra) does not support the apple tv yet and told me to contact them. I contacted Telstra who then told me that the issue is because Apple only allows 1 device to stream apple music and that one device is my iphone. That is impossible because apple music works great on my iMac and my iPad also as well as my iphone.

And then the Apple "specialist" emails me back to say that Apple Music is completely unsupported right now for the ATV4 (see screenshot). And tried telling me this is the reason I can't access Apple Music.

So still no apple music on my ATV4 :(

What a crock , I mean I could understand if it's was some special offer with the carrier them limiting it to one device but if it's working on everything else surely that's not the case.

As for the specialist clearly no one has mentioned to them that's there's been a new Apple TV launched.

Ffs, it's ridiculous. Unfortunately, you may have to persevere with them and hope you get someone who knows what they're doing. It just seems odd that if your using the same Apple ID as the other systems it doesn't provide the same services as the rest of them. Do you still have the offer details from your carrier, might be worth checking that to see if there's any mention of a limit on the number of devices or not.

I am in the exact same boat as you. Free 12mth apple music with Telstra, and I cannot get it to work on my Apple TV 4. I hope this is resolved soon as, just like for you, my subscriptions works for all other apple devices (iPad, MacBook and iMac).

Well at least we now know that it's not just me it must be a Telstra issue..contact Apple as well and let them know. The more people that call and complain the more chance they will fix it

Exactly I completely agree with you. I'll try find the terms of the 12 month trial but it doesn't make sense as it works fine on my other devices and they told me it should only work on one device..
