Exactly I completely agree with you. I'll try find the terms of the 12 month trial but it doesn't make sense as it works fine on my other devices and they told me it should only work on one device..

I don't know where they are getting that whole one device thing from, but it's the first I've ever heard of it. To be honest I think the real answer is that they haven't implemented it properly on the ATV4. Hopefully they fix it in future with an update, but at this point I don't think the so called 'specialists' will be able to help.

Only three options in this "music" section and they are 1. Repeat music, 2. Sound check, 3. About Apple Music and privacy

If that's the only options you get in there you'll need to open the music app on your phone. Log out and then in and make sure you've set everything up.

Tried doing this but still not showing up on my apple TV.

Thanks for the suggestion, restored both from scratch and still not showing up. I guess it's an issue between Telstra and Apple.

Well if you've already exchanged your Apple TV , restore both the Apple TV and tv, changed the hdmi cable as well as try different hdmi ports. Then it's safe to say the problem is your tv.

I have two Apple tv's and both don't work with my Apple Music subscription so it's safe to say it's not a device issue but rather a service issue between apple and Telstra. Especially because another Australian Telstra user is having the same problem as per his recent post on this thread.

Ah I see then that makes sense

I am with Telstra and also having the same problem - can't access Apple Music or see the iCloud Music Option in the App settings. Strange that on my Apple TV, I can still see and also stream Apple Music songs I've added to 'My Music' through my phone or itunes on Mac.

I have also now realised once something is added to My Music through my phone or Mac, and then I play it on Apple TV in My Music, I have access to all of the regular Apple Music options, like going to the complete album or the Artists page and I can select any of their other songs/albums to play even though they aren't added to My Music. This is all without the Apple TV acknowledging that I have an Apple Music account. What a mess

Apple escalated me to some product specialist who suggested it is because my carrier (telstra) does not support the apple tv yet and told me to contact them. I contacted Telstra who then told me that the issue is because Apple only allows 1 device to stream apple music and that one device is my iphone. That is impossible because apple music works great on my iMac and my iPad also as well as my iphone.

And then the Apple "specialist" emails me back to say that Apple Music is completely unsupported right now for the ATV4 (see screenshot). And tried telling me this is the reason I can't access Apple Music.

So still no apple music on my ATV4 :(
There specialist may have thought you were talking about the older AppleTVs that don't support Apple Music.

Apple Music did have an issue that required a restart to get it to work. It worked right of the box using the pairing feature with my iPad (for some reason it would not connect to my iPhone). However, a couple days later, I went to listen to music and it was on the "subscribe to Apple Music" page. I went to the iCloud and signed in again, which didn't fix it. However, I restarted the AppleTV and my problem was resolved. No problems since then.
