The issue that has bugged (hah!) me the most about Waze is that I'll establish the trip while in my driveway, but between parked and getting on the road, Waze will recalculate the route, possibly multiple times. This is particularly annoying when I've already accepted one of the alternate routes, and now while in traffic have to reselect it. Other nav programs say things like "Proceed to the route" or even better "Begin on X street southbound" but Waze just goes bonkers. Now I navigate with Apple (if it knows the destination) or Google (knows many more destinations than Apple), but only use Waze for notifications on the highway.

It's good that this is available for those who don't use CarPlay, but lame that it's only Apple Music the service and not access to your music library in general.

Yep and here we go. For the low low price of only $2399.95

yeah they did jack the price. Still you can do aftermarket, with all your system controls, for as low as $500. I did just check the price. Can be more if you want a different headunit. Or less with sales.

In my case, for me to upgrade from Sync2 to Sync3 on my Ford, it's a $2.5k upgrade. Why so much? New hardware is required.
I have a buddy who did that very thing in his F150, a full 12" tablet display replaced much of the center console and still worked for all system controls and with the aftermarket bezel it looked factory. It was under $800.
You certainly can do it for much cheaper than $2.5k.

Perfect timing as my wife and I love Waze and we'll be using this for our 10+ hour drive this upcoming weekend.

I've looked, no dice... yet

I'm surprised it took this long for them to integrate it. I like Waze for traffic info, but I've been using Apple Maps more and more for straight-up navigation. It works well now and is a lot easier on the eyes. Also, Apple Maps has been using Waze data since the beginning, so delays should be factored in to route selection.

This made me laugh because I had noticed the same thing just a few months before:
