Apple Music can now be streamed on Amazon Echo speakers via Alexa in the United States, a few days ahead of schedule.

As spotted by 9to5Mac, it is now possible to link Apple Music with your Amazon account in the Alexa app for iPhone and use Alexa voice commands to control playback of songs, playlists, and Beats 1 on Apple Music on Amazon Echo speakers.

To access this feature, simply use a voice command such as "Alexa, play music by Ed Sheeran on Apple Music" or "Alexa, play today's hits on Apple Music." Apple Music can also be set as the default music service in the Alexa app, so that "Apple Music" does not need to be specified each time.

Other streaming music services supported on Echo speakers include Spotify, Deezer, Vevo, SiriusXM, Tidal, and Pandora.

Apple and Amazon announced this new partnership in late November, with Amazon saying it is "committed to offering great music providers to our customers," and referring to Apple Music as "one of the most popular music services."

Apple Music playback on Amazon Echo speakers is currently limited to the United States.

[doublepost=1545217549][/doublepost]It seems that availability is based on the location of your iTunes account. Mine is based in the US but I’m currently physically in Australia and it works. All my Echoes are physically located in Australia (location set in Australia) and Apple Music works on them.

We can’t even add the skill to be able to log in to Apple Music. How did you add the skill?

They are one of the essential music services, I'm sure that Amazon is happy about this.

Amazon and their roll out of services are so US centric it's an absolute joke - there is no reason why this couldn't have rolled out to the UK and any other country in the same way their support for use of Echos as ring doorbell chimes still hasn't made it outside of the US - they clearly do not care about customers outside of the US when it comes to new feature support.

I got the pop up message from Apple and clicked on it. It took me through to the skill page in the Alexa app. I’m definitely in Australia but my iTunes account is with the US store.

Has anyone seen dates for a role out to other countries world wide? Personally interested in the UK :)
It’s working for me in Australia but my iTunes account is based in the US.

Is your amazon account US or Australia?

Does apple music have a volume normalization when played with the Echo like radio channels do?

The strict volume steps of the echo make listening to music stressful, because dependent on the mastering of a title volume step 2 for example can be too silent and on the next song too loud. Amazon music has no normalization and the volume control is crap.

I’d switch to Apple and pay more for their streaming if they offer this.

It seems if you have apple music via US app store or iTunes account alexa will work worldwide

while its true that AM will play the implementation is not great, music will often just stop playing, or refuse to star playing, it just does not work well, your still better off blu tooting it from your phone.

Impatiently waiting here for it in the UK, will the Apple Music skill just appear or will the Alexa app get an update in the app store also?
