Is that all you got? come at me.

lol what is this a fight at the kids playground?

of course a modern site will crawl on an old pc while scrolling. Thats my point of hardware limitations. Fast forward to today and we have image editors, music editors, word processors, etc through the browser. Are they as advanced as a native client? Of course not.

However as stated below we have overcome previous limitations in the past and this trend is only going to continue.

Heck I have even rented a mac once from a streaming site and it performed well with everything except file transfer. Thats just limited by usb and internet speeds which are only going to get faster.

Honestly I wouldnt be surprised if the os on the devices we use in 20 years strictly connect to the cloud and the entire desktop is streamed in real time to the device

you made a comparison about thick client software and I replied in kind as it seemed a bit silly your argument.

Yes we're all moving towards VM's which essentially is dumb-terminals (a very old concept). I just disagree that for most of our work it's the ideal solution, still too many restrictions for a smooth solution. I don't see Apple making a hedge in this anytime soon though.

I made that statement because you said "That mantra you've stated has been around over 20yrs ... and still nothing much has changed."

Which is a flatout false statement when you actually look at how far computer advancements have come

Some people rebel against the idea FaceTime and iMessage for Android users but in fact, this would benefit Apple users above all. How many times were you unable to have a Group FaceTime or iMessage because just one of them was Android? Making them universally accessible would allow us to stay within FaceTime and iMessage, rather than being dragged into Zoom calls and WhatsApp groups.

Exactly, I despise WhatsApp so being able to message solely on iMessage would be fantastic.

FaceTime works on android?

Are you listening to it on mobile or wifi? I'm going back and forth between the iTunes app and the browser app and it's identical in every way. The reason I ask if it's mobile is that it's possible the music is being re-encoded by your wireless provider similar to the way they would do with video.

On Wifi. I dunno what' going on, but for me, this sounds appreciably worse. Maybe it'll improve over time. I dunno.
