What I really miss is for Apple Music on Apple TV (tvOS) to be able to automatically show the lyrics. It's so frustrating to having to manually click the lyrics button and keep scrolling the lyrics...

What were the songs

I didn't search songs, I searched bands.

Coal Chamber (since I had one of their songs stuck in my head over the last few days)
Blitzkid
Vagora
Children of October
The Other

All of these are (or in the case of Blitzkid, were) internationally touring acts and not even all that 'underground.'

I saw this a couple days ago in the genius app but I guess is now confirmed

Great news and nice improvement. Not familiar with Genius before but after spending some time on their site I'm especially looking forward to how this will be integrated into Apple Music.

I would like Apple to utilize these lyrics to auto-censor music when the app is in some sort of “kid friendly” mode. So that even if it’s not a song for the kids, at least the bad lyrics could be bleeped out. A list of default words and phrases could make it “just work” but allow someone to customize that list so maybe their kids can hear certain words others might not approve of.

Make this a quick toggle in the music app and the mini player widget on the lock screen. And allow siri to toggle the option with a voice command.

Between voice dictation and these lyrics, they should be able to do something like this. I don’t know if it’s worth the effort, but I’d appreciate a quick way to filter my music on occasion.

so you're right. but for the most part i can find everything i want, even if its kind of niche. although i suppose you've found the site's limitation

New patek on my wrist. Yeah. White diamonds, them s**** hit pink. Yeah. Got cold, had to go get a mink. Yeah. New finger rings hit like a sink. Yeah. Yeah. You a bad b****, then we can link. What?

What are these garbage lyrics? I am so glad I left hip hop years ago.

If you think that is Hip Hop then it seems you were never in to to begin with.

Maybe stop listening to terrible hip hop? There's plenty of great artists out there with amazing lyrics. Kendrick just won the Pulitzer Prize for music with his latest album.
He was just referring to the hero image highlighted by Genius&Apple.

Hopefully they implement it better than in Spotify. It’s highly annoying that there is no toggle to switch between “Behind the lyrics” facts and the actual lyrics.
They won't implement comments at all.

They will just supplement their database of lyrics.

Lyrics are already available in Apple Music for 99% of pop songs.

I think what you are interested most is the Apple Music integration within Genius app.

On one side Apple wants a family-friendly image of itself (https://www.macrumors.com/2018/09/24/apple-original-programming-avoid-adult-content/), on the other side they're partnering with a service that slaps a header image containing a garbage lyric. Among "thousands of song" weren't they capable to find something more appropriate?
I think its rap genius who prepared the banner ; )

Nope, Vagora of East Providence, Rhode Island, Children of October of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and The Other (no s) of Koln, Germany.

But are they accurate? One of my biggest pet peeves with Apple Music is seeing incorrect lyrics. Especially to songs where the physical CD comes with the lyrics printed. How do people get these wrong? Why do people submit lyrics that are incorrect, even noticeable by just listening to the song?! It pisses me of so much.

Why do I get the feeling Samsung or Spotify is going to buy Musixmatch and trump Apple.

Literally any enhancements they can make to Apple Music will be welcomed.

Of the many areas of opportunity with Apple Music (let's save UI discussion for another thread/day/if at all), I am stunned there aren't more production "liner notes" available within the data of any given album/track. Stuff like who are the band members, who plays what instrument, who was the engineer, where was it recorded, etc., can really go a long way toward deepening the discovery experience, connecting the dots of the humans that make the sounds (ie: oh, that engineer on that one cut is also the drummer in that other band).

So while Apple Music has certainly helped me discover all sorts of new-to-me music (thanks!), that I have to leave Music to get basic production info seems an opportunity. To me.

It would be great to have the option to insert lyrics in media that you have purchased as well. I can get lyrics through Shazam but not in tracks I've purchased. There aren't even lyrics in media I purchase today! That is truly unfortunate and quite fixable!

Is there any working Mac apps out there that will still add lyrics to your MP3s?
Try NeedleDrop. It's a script you can find and install in iTunes that will play every song, look up lyrics, and insert them if it finds a match.

"partnering" always makes my queezy

First it starts off with lyrics, then it will expand to sharing info on what track you listen to... and then the balls starts rolling. even at the expensive of "providing better service" its just sounds like a shady practice, from a privacy standpoint. It's just one of my pet-peeves.

Even at the convenience, do it yourself, or don't do it at all.
