At this point I'm just happy pre-releases are starting to successfully appear in my library without having to delete what I had before, search, then add it again. Now if notifications just worked!
Pre-releases do transfer over. Apparently, a new Guns N' Roses pre=release album was added to my library. I didn't do anything--I just received a notice it was there.

I never understood why people say Apple Music interface is a mess.

LOL, this menu design alone

They made it more difficult to use the star ratings, that's for sure.

And hey, the 'for you' apple music icon just reappeared on my iphone, so i have to turn it off again. Great!

At first glance, it's a mess. But after a while, you get used to it.

Luckily the only thing I use is Library. I already have my Playlists loaded, and I just shuffle.

Funny, I didn't even know there were other options when you scroll down on a track until I read some of the posts in this thread. You would think Apple would provide some sort of hint or bumper (UX Design 101) letting you know that "Shuffle", "Repeat", and "Up Next" were there.

How about improving the search for albums or the Soundtrack Genre there is no where in the genre section for soundtracks to see new albums. The search needs to be improved when typing a Artist name inly few albums show up you have to know the album name to find it or lets say you just type in a genre which should lead to various artist but no only few show, Spotify does a better job.

There is a section for soundtracks that I use quite often.

Browse>Genres>Stage & Screen

There’s lots of features, new releases, artist playlists and essential albums

I'd prefer better controls than just another curated feature.
Where is the dynamic equalizer?
When will they update this outdated washed out all white design...?

Yes I do miss cover flow!

The UI is still a huge mess

Hopefully iOS 3000 will change that

It's ugly!!

Do you use the products or you just talk whatever fits your argument? Where is there space down there for the controls when an external sound source is connected?

The down controls are useless for the majority of people.

Is that an iPhone X screenshot. I have a 6. Is that bar at the bottom always there?! Ew. Might as well have kept a button at least it isn’t an eye sore.

I’d like an option to sort albums by whether or not they are actually an album.
So much this. Their 'album' section just vomits up every single/EP/album/limited edition/special edition/remaster in a seemingly random order (i.e. old albums that are remastered get moved up into the newer albums etc.) It's a mess.
Just show me the studio albums, in the order they were released... like Spotify does.

Honestly if they removed the “Create Station” from that list (and “Dislike” actually worked correctly lol) I think this would be fine. Create Station should only be available from the artists’ profile. Otherwise I think it works as intended because I’m not sure where else you’d add all those options without it being an even more jumbled mess.

How about finally letting those of us with functional ear drums and great stereos the ability to download and steam at full resolution?

The control bar at the bottom is hard to notice. It’s not differentiated from the rest of the interface, that even to this day I confuse it as being part of the content above. Why doesn’t apply just make a darker grey so you can tell it’s different than album info and other content.

Also, on the iPhone if you have your accessibility settings for large text, it creates some really whack layout issues in Apple Music interface.

I don't really understand why people should be excited about a new "feature" that provides information on coming releases and new artists. The other word for this "feature" is advertising.

Aren't we bombarded by enough spam already?

Quick, tell me which track I'm listening to right now in this screen shot.

Apple, please highlight the track that I'm currently listening to. Seems like a MAJOR user interface flaw.

Apple UI for Apple Music is so bad I am thinking of switching to Spotify or just going back to MP3. God help us if they get rid of the iTunes Store.

The sad thing is even the basic iTunes Music app on iOS has been horrible since iOS7!

Look ... why am I going into Genres I don’t see songs I see albums which force me to go into each before I can play a song!?

I never understood why people say Apple Music interface is a mess. So is every other major music streaming service to some degree. They have the near impossible task of being a "one-stop shop" for 40 million songs and tens of millions of users. Improvements can always be made but I'd hardly call it a mess. Everyone expects something slightly different since music is a very personal thing.

Spotify does a few things better than Apple Music and visa versa.

Everyone wants to complain but few have any solution on how to do it better. Theres a reason Apple and Spotify have loads of happy music customers. Clearly they're doing something right.

Apple Music IS a mess.
Previously on a another thread i talked about Artist links.
When you play a song from a pre defined (Apple algorithm ) playlist, when you click on the artist, IT SHOULD show the artist page with their albums/songs/data.....But no...it linked to the current playlist.

Guess how long it tool apple to fix THAT simple link error?

And i say they know about the error cause previously it worked perfectly.

It was too much for me and i finally succumbed and joined Spotify and it has made me so happy.
I am now introduced daily to new SONG , i have new favourites artist and the UI is gorgeous. (The full page display is just gorgeous.)

Maybe you are right , Spotify might well have some messes but so far I DO not skip songs and i just let Spotify control my playlist. The Daily Mix 1/2/3/4 is what i listen to nowadays.

Apple music playlist at worst has never been updated since 2010 .
The same songs over and over again.
It was amazing at first but soon got boring...
As an Apple devotee who is used to everything being simple and bautiful Apple Music is just horrible.

First off Apple Music wasnt around in 2010 ...so not sure what on earth you're referring to with that comment.
As far as the artist link , yes that took a while to fix but mind you Apple Music is 3 years old vs. 8 year old Spotify.

Glad Spotify works better for you. Thats why there is choice.
