My son is in high school (actually the equivalent here in the UK). He is a member of Unidays and qualifies for a student discount on Spotify. Unfortunately, Apple only offers the Apple Music discount to college/university students so my son does not qualify. He (and his friends) therefore all subscribe to Spotify. I guess Apple is not concerned about trying to encourage subscriber support and loyalty from a younger age.
I've always wondered about this with Apple in general. All of their "student" deals are for college students only, it seems like if you make a kid an Apple fan early (say in middle or high school) you've made an Apple customer for life. Oh well, I guess Apple marketing knows better than all the other tech companies who have a more expansive definition of "student."
