Stop publishing headlines that describe rumors and unsubstantiated claims as facts, you are foolishly damaging your reputation. And as far as this story goes, if 40 million Android users were using Apple Music you would have heard about this from Apple.

Yeah! This is MacRUMORS not...oh wait....

Hmmm...Apple DOES keep saying The Service (since that is what they are into now I guess it should be capitalized) is growing, but they don't really say how many are Apple and how many are Android peeps. Interesting.

It’s amazing what people “just know” without having any basis in fact.

Math (statistics) will tell you that a random sample size of less than 2,000 is necessary to be 99% sure that your data is within +/- 3 percentage points of accurately describing the entire population—whether that population is a million or a billion.

Of course, the study may not have been designed properly, you’d have to examine their methodology. And even if the design is sound, it may not have been executed correctly.

But Google didn’t take issue with the study, so they apparently didn’t have a problem with the results, even if you do.
200 not 2000

200 not 2000
Not for a 99% confidence level at a margin of error of 3 percentage points, unless the population were very small.

A sample of 200 at 99% confidence would give you about +/- 9 percentage points. (In order to be 99% confident and accurate to +/- 3 with a sample size of only 200, surprisingly—at least to me—your total population could be no more than 224, meaning you’d have to sample almost 90% of the entire population!)

Most people in this thread had the right idea.

In our case for instance, my wife, in addition to her iPhone, has a Samsung S10+ and she is using Apple Music on it as a family member.
