I was so excited to switch to Apple Music from Sptofy but after giving it a chance it's just not there for me. Searching through playlists and overall UI is just way behind in my opinion. Plus, the Mac and Apple TV Music app is totally lackluster and I thought this was supposed to be a new-from-ground-up app.

instead of this rubbish, how about artwork that you can actually view properly and a back cover? I know its never going to be, as good, as having an original record sleeve, but would be nice to see the additional info.

and please!!! search by label!! I honestly do not understand why this is not an option.

That's great and all, but give us hi-def audio please.
The attached advert is from a recent issue of Grammophone. What does “now with studio quality sound” mean? These adverts only started appearing a few months ago. I did not see any announcement from Apple of HiRes audio availability in Apple Music.

Interesting. I would think that they would make a big deal if they did move to higher quality audio and most likely charge more for it.

Hi-def audio is HUGE. The more detail in the music, or graphic, or video, the larger the file will be. I'm not sure that I want to fill my APPLE LIMITED STORAGE SPACE IMAC with bloated audio files. Dang...

EDIT: I was pointing at the fact that we mere mortals can't upgrade the storage on many (too many) of our Apple products to be able to hold bloated audio files. I remember someone putting high quality audio on his huge iPod touch, and only getting like a half dozen files. *shrug* I used to travel a lot, and didn't care that the files were 'skinny' and lost 'fidelity'. I was hoping to survive a plane flight with noise, and crying, screaming, and forced speech. Give me hundreds (thousands?) of tracks, and leave me alone. I wear Bose QC headphones because I WANT to be left alone. Hint hint...

I don't care about animated artwork. If Apple must do something with the album art work, I would rather see bigger artwork and option to zoom in.

But it would be better if they focus more on recommendations.

animated album covers is fun and all but more than animated album covers, I’d greatly prefer they include liner notes: details about the album, producer, studio, etc. What I miss in the digital audio world is the dot connecting liner notes can yield. It’s fun to see that a drummer in an album you like also worked on another project or seeing what producers work on what projects - can help create a deeper connection to the music. I’d argue more so than animated album art.

With the AirPods Max release, there seems no more appropriate time for higher quality Apple Music.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't macOS & iOS stream audio in AAC format only to wireless headphones? I'm not a hardcore audiophile like some people here, but I would think that would be a bottleneck for sound quality.

I hope they add this feature to the iTunes Store. Live Lyrics would be welcome for bought music too.
I get the point that Apple wants to sell subscriptions, I just don't want it.

I'm not 100% sure if I would use it all the time, I probably get annoyed by the repeating animation though, but it would be nice to have it for bought music.
Live Lyrics aren’t on bought music? Seems strange.

I think there’s already a setting that allows you to force it to use the lower quality, for example, if you’re streaming to your phone and don’t have unlimited data.

I don’t know how much I’d want to pay, but that’s another debate.

I don’t think this is news. We’ve had animated Music artwork since the inception of iOS 14.

I’m currently on iOS 14.2.1 and see a bunch of animated artwork in the “Radio” and “Listen Now” tab.
I overlooked that they seem to extending that to albums. I didn’t realize it wasn’t already available for albums.

Good idea .... I suppose some people will like it. Music app for me is just to select the playlist that I want and either leave the phone over the desk or use any other app.

I wish Apple could fix the equalizer on the MacOS version. It will work for say one track and then turns itself off. Have to use Boom 3D as a replacement.
