Regarding the track star - first time they’ve tested for Cannabis and did NOT inform the athletes of changes in testing something the governing body needs to communicate to athletes of the change prior to doing so.

you do know that grapefruit, poppyseeds and cranberry’s affects test results and could lead to false detections or incomplete results.

funny how Cannibis has never been known to give its user an energy before so yeah it would be stupid to have it thinking you’ll have an advantage in 100m or 4x 100m relay sprinting events. Lol. Cool saying but the execution is weak because the prize is in the taking and the restriction/ban doesn’t make sense.
I feel sorry for her as her mother had recently died so I can see why she may have used it.

Apple Music on Thursday will host a global livestream for the premiere of Kanye West's tenth studio album, titled "Donda."

The sold-out event will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and Apple Music's livestream will start at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The livestream was revealed in a Beats Studio Buds ad that aired during the NBA Finals. The ad features U.S. track star Sha'Carri Richardson, who was recently banned from the Tokyo Olympic Games for testing positive for marijuana.

Richardson is seen starting a training session at night to the sound of "No Child Left Behind," one of the tracks on West's upcoming album.

The event was later confirmed by Def Jam Recordings in a tweet. Kanye's "Donda" will be officially released the day after the event, July 23.

This isn't the first time Apple has livestreamed a special event. Most recently, in February, Apple TV+ hosted a live premiere for its exclusive documentary "Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry."

If Apple streamed a performance by the LA Philharmonic or San Francisco Symphony I might be interested. They rarely go anywhere near things like this and it shows.

Does Kanye west still have fans? Isn’t he the antithesis of what his fans ever wanted from him now? Or is bizarre Jesus music that big now ?
Kanye has just as many fans as before, I don´t know when was the last time you listened to him. Artistic vision never "went away".

We all have different music tastes, no need to pick on somebody for liking something different :)
This is America now (probably always been tbh). If you don’t like something, spend your time finding a doing stuff you do like and stop raining on people parades. I’m not a big fan of KW but let him and whoever else like him read the article. Stop being a negative Nancy all the time and keep it moving. Just because Apple has a business relationship with another entity doesn’t mean you have to like it or that your lane opinion needs to be voiced. Why would a person even click on something knowing They are not going to like the content. It would be insane for me to sit at home watching Trump rallies if I know I hate the content.

No son, you need to learn this is garbage music

Hmm.
Can you
Play the keyboards?
Use a Drum Machine to come up with your own beats on the fly (not necesarily program each beat in a song production)?
How many top global artists have you written songs for, recorded for, produced entire albums for?
Beyonce, Nas, Pusha T, Big Sean, Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Rihanna x10, ??
Have you become a self-made billionare yet?

* In Spotify's first ten years from 2008 to 2018, West was the sixth most streamed artist, and the fourth fastest artist to reach one billion streams. (Wikipedia)
* fourth best-selling digital songs artist of the 2000s in the US,
* He is the 7th highest certified artist in the US by digital singles (69 million).
* West has the joint-fifth most number-one singles in New Zealand (six), and the third most number one singles on the Hot Rap Songs chart (nine). He has the third-most top-ten singles in the UK by a rapper (20), and the joint-second most platinum singles in the UK by a rapper (eight). West is one of seven acts to have 100+ Billboard Hot 100 entries.

So much for your 'garbage music' lol. Maybe its just your taste in music that's garbage? You may dislike Rap, Hip-Hop, Trap music - that's fine, but trashing Kanye's music as garbage isn't valid in any view - he's accomplished a LOT.

Can you provide a link for this?
I currently don't have a specific link to my statement unfortunately:

United States Anti-Doping Agency
Funny how 'Marijuana' or cannabis is mentioned just on 1 page
p 17
Document source: https://www.wada-ama.org/sites/default/files/resources/files/2021list_en.pdf

Marijuana is banned only during in-competition periods, which are defined as beginning at 11:59 p.m. on the day before a competition and ending at its conclusion. Athletes may have up to 150 nanograms per milliliter of THC, the main psychoactive substance in marijuana, without causing a positive test.

According to USADA, marijuana is a prohibited substance because it can enhance performance, it poses a health risk to athletes and its use violates the spirit of the sport.
A suspension for testing positive for marijuana can be up to two years. The minimum length is a month, if an athlete can prove the use of marijuana was not related to sports performance and if the person completes a substance abuse treatment program. Just last month USADA suspended Kahmari Montgomery, a sprinter, for one month after he tested positive for marijuana.

personally I feel that the 'spirit of the sport' is the real reason she was banned, pot smoker trying to run a 100m sprint while on THC - yeah it would be comical and a LOT slower heat times. It would NOT enhance any athletes performance and it's not a health risk in anyway shape or form.

Richardson’s positive test came about a week before the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee needs to submit the names of its athletes competing in Tokyo. And Richardson was not only supposed to be one of them, but also was expected to be one of the most recognizable Olympians, at least by the end of the Games.

Her testing should not have occured so quickly before and positive results should not have banned her based on the USADA's ban.

PS: Sha'Carri has the closest time to Flo-Jo's WR.
100 m = 10.49 (I've run that many years ago as a teen flat out - I know the hard work it takes for this)
200 m = 21.34 Finals.

Michael Phelps got banned for smoking pot also don't remember seeing him in any Apple Ad. Hmmmm.
Really, when? When was Phelps banned for cannibis of any kind for his competitions? Not likely.

I won’t be watching this but it will interesting to see the reviews and to see if Kanye has his Mojo back. Now that he’s breaking free of the Kardashians.

Kanye pretty much predicted, in a song, his life with Kim years before they started dating "Hell of a life" (2nd vers) and a few others.

He'll be just fine! His mojo is not just in his own albums it's in all the collaborations he does.

Those freaking nails tho........
Look up Flo-Jo and you'll see WHOM the OG girl that started this all with dragon-nails.

Gail Deavers was also legendary with those nails. A little bit later than Flo Jo.

Does it have to be "support" or "condemnation" and nothing else?

Maybe they think just Richardson is a great athlete and don't give a ****—rightfully so—that she smoked/smokes.
I think you’re missing the point of my post. She knowingly smoked before the Olympic trials breaking her contractual agreement to compete fairly and free of substances, knowing very well she would get busted.
Now she’s using it as a platform for being treated unfairly.
Each their own, and more power to her, but cough Epic Games. 😉

No, I don’t think I did miss it.

I think it’s extremely unlikely that all of this came together in just 2-3 weeks, and even more unlikely that a world-class sprinter would knowingly/purposely throw away the pinnacle opportunity in their sport in order to have a “platform” to chase endorsement/marketing opportunities.

The conspiracy theory aside, if you think that she didn’t think she could avoid/get around the test result, then you should do more research into the lengths Olympic-level athletes go to mask their substance use.

She messed up her own Olympic opportunity, that’s a fact. That said, I don’t buy for a second that she purposely, intentionally did it, she just made a poor risk assessment and took the risk anyway.
