No dissing on spotify/tidal/amazon but I really like Apple Music.
I only wish there was a chance to stream the higher quality original itunes store files.
I'd gladly pay 5$ extra a month for a high-fi (for what can be achieved in streaming) tier.
The icloud library function is amazing, as I have a huge library of high quality vynil rips I can carry on with me at all times, even if compressed.

Funny how Cook is so conservative in some ways and bans certain apps but highlights very crude lyrics from no talents like Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B. Now he will be trying to not only entice us to listen to them but look at them as well
Money is the language Tim speaks best, so if highlighting these lyrics which are popular at this moment makes more money, his morals go out the window.

Funny how your age really comes off in this comment! I don’t know what generation you are but the likes of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion are perfect for Apple in hauling in my generation.

I have it on right now. It's great! A stream of new music videos is exactly what I was after.
And for all the grumblers, of course they're going to play music that's popular right now. You want them to play music that most people DON'T like?

Why is this limited to English speaking countries? Is Apple afraid people won’t understand the intricacies of American pop culture??

not that I’m sad I’m missing out. But I would maybe consider giving Apple Fitness a try if they made it available internationally.

Firstly, you claim my age really comes off and then say you don't know what generation I am. Not very logical and then you double post so perhaps your faculties have been impacted by listening to crap music o_O

Its so funny to see how white straight old males keep commenting that todays music sucks just because.
Nobody’s stopping you from listening to music from your youth. And nobody’s forcing you to listen to Dua or Sam Smith. But just because you’re old and unhappy about everything doesn’t mean that todays music sucks. Especially when artists like Dua Lipa make songs inspired by music from 80s and 90s.

I’d rather sandpaper my own skin and roll about in salt than listen to Simpering Sam Smith.

And white, straight old males? That’s hate speech. Racist, ageist and sexist. How would it sound if it was a comment addressed to “identities” that you presumably approve of?

For as long as the iPod and the iTunes Store have been around, Apple has understood that taste in music is a deeply personal thing. But the last few years — especially with the launch of Apple Music 1 (Beats 1) and now this Apple Music TV, their "curation" of featured music is just pathetic. And it's extremely disappointing considering Apple's 20-year history in music — they not only should do better, but they can do better. Music is far more than chart-topping names, and if Apple is supposed to be the leading name in streaming, why the hell am I listening to another god damn Ed Sheeran song?

Get some talent from all over the world — find the KEXPs and KCRWs of every major city. If you can't hire their DJs, syndicate their shows to Apple Music subscribers. Find a way to get more range and diversity in picking music from lesser-known, up-and-coming acts, and allow subscribers to have some choice. Apple Music TV/Radio should not be just one or a handful of channels — hell, SiriusXM has a hundred some channels now?

Agreed. Curation is perhaps one of the most overused words these days and it’s just trying to put lipstick on a pig in terms of tightly controlled playlists and algorithms masquerading as choice.

But then again this is the company so tin eared as to genuinely believe that iTunes customers would want a U2 album foisted upon them...

After Steve Jobs died, there is no other genre. Now the most important thing is the aforementioned crap, which makes me sad.
I'm sure you're rarely if ever on Apple Music. Otherwise you would have realized that almost all niches are served there, and the human curated lists are also exciting. You should inform yourself before you write wildly on it.
