Yes. Turn on lossless streaming and Atmos in the music app settings of the apple tv and you´re good to go. Make sure that both the homepods and the apple tv are in the latest 14.6 software version.
Thank you. It’s all set up now. I listened to a few tracks via the Apple TV and it’s nice. I will try it out with my AirPods Pro later on.

Has anyone else noticed mistakes in any of these Atmos mixes? For example, in Buddy Holly by Weezer at 1:10 the entire drum bus drops out for a few seconds. Just who did they hire to do these mixes? 🤣
Can you show your screenshot of the Dolby Atmos mix. I'm not seeing it in my side:

Did a search for "spatial audio" on Apple Music to pull up available songs and to me there is a noticeable difference. To my ears, the Dolby Atmos gave many of the songs a "live" quality that wasn't there before. As some other posters mentioned, this wasn't necessarily a good thing for some songs but I'm not sure if that is due to unintended effects or if that was how the artist wanted it to sound to the listener. I do think this will be the preferred format for most users in the future. (Note: I was using Airpods 2nd Gen & iPhone 12 Mini/iPad Pro 12.9 for testing.)

Just wondering - and probably been asked before - but do you need to re-download all your music again to have them at Dolby Atmos / Lossless quality?

Both versions of the Blue Album show the same Lossless and ADM logos, but when playing it on my iPad its showing as Atmos.
In the FAQ, Apple says the Atmos badge won’t appear on an album unless all tracks on the album are available in Atmos. That song is, but probably not all songs on that album.

So I definitely had to try the spatial audio head tracking future by updating to iOS 15. I was hoping people were right and it wasn’t just one person, so I had to try for myself. Works pretty dang good!

I was really disappointing with it in iOS14, no impact and would rather keep it off (I tried things all night and only 30-40 songs impressed). I think the head tracking gives it this big dynamic space and really should’ve been implemented with the launch. Not sure why this wasn’t included.

I'm having such a hard time actually downloading music with dolby atmos or lossless. the problem seems to stem from any albums that i had originally ripped from cd are somehow over riding it. I remove the albums from my library even, completely, and they still repopulate to the same version with no lossless or dolby options.

I don’t have an Apple Music subscription, as it just expired today. My purchased music from iTunes does not show lossless or atmos. But it does show atmos and lossless when I view it on Apple Music… what gives?!?

I'm puzzled - listening on my laptop (tried with AirPod Pro and also hi-end headphones) - while listening I toggle atmos on/off in preferences and hear no difference. Then I choose a couple songs (Norah Jones - Don't Know Why; Musgraves - Space Cowboy) from Apple's made for spatial playlist and compare side by side with the audio from the years old youtube upload of the respective videos. I really want to love this feature but having a tough time hearing any real difference.

How can you tell which albums actually support spatial audio? Because iOS 15 puts a spatialized audio effect on everything. Abbey Road was in one of the Spatial Audio playlists, but it didn’t have the Dolby Atmos label.

Question for those who say they know their iPad/iPhone is outputting Dolby Atmos/Spatial Audio: How do you know?

For me, turning it off/on makes the presence of SA obvious. But the SA graphic does not animate like it does when viewing video. Does it animate for anyone else (using iOS 14)?

It sounds different.

It’s Apple Music only. Not iTunes purchased Music.

I’ve not seen Abbey Road in any of the official spatial audio playlists. Are you sure it was an official one? As some user made ones are being palmed off as official.

Abbey Road isn’t showing as spatial audio, just Hi Res Lossless

Yep, Here Comes The Sun is in the official Rock playlist-

Ahh missed that.

It won’t show the icon on an album unless every track supports it. So, it’s likely that track is the only one that supports spatial audio. Thus it’s in the playlist, but the album doesn’t show the icon.

So only songs that have Dolby Atmos have spatial audio? Because not that many albums have the label lol

Yea, and albums will have songs that support it, but won’t show the Dolby Atmos logo unless every song on the album supports it.

I am not seeing the option. Can someone confirm the availability of the feature in India? I have tried it on Mac, iPad and iPhone.
