Then why isn't Apple charging 99¢ in every country? And people are really going to complain about 99¢?!?
Free music services are not fair for music artists
Apple's reason better be something technical in nature or due to the local law in those countries, rather than literal penny pinching.

That's not the point, and you know it. And yeah, that $0.99 added to all the other "Apple Taxes" actually does start breaking the bank at some point.
Which bank are you with ? You know there are other companies besides Apple on this planet.....
Due to legal issues and licensing in those countries.
This free trial is what has brought so many paying customers to Apple Music. They would not get rid of it intentionally.
Depends how you look at it, in my opinion artists should make money by touring around, make music free for everybody.
I make money by actually going to my job, not laying down on the couch and getting filthy rich by doing nothing.
It's over, Apple is finished.
Wow. So now we even have to pay for trials. Ridiculous.
Cause Tim is greedy, that's why.

Nice work Tim. Every penny counts![]()
So no more free trial when you buy your $1k iPhone 8 and try to test the service? Sounds about Apple.

My word, such douchebaggery
If only people were as interested in thinking as in spouting off. [Edit: Deductive reasoning dictates that] Apple's complying with the law in those countries, people. And artists get paid even during free or cheap trials. Stop tripping over yourselves trying to shoehorn every news bite into your anti-Apple world views. I promise it doesn't make anyone look clever.Apple - Never stop PAYING!
I have a feeling this is the case. Australia and EU countries are way more strict on what is "free" and a "giveaway", moreso than the US. I am 99% confident this is the lawyers stepping in to cover their butts.Apple's reason better be something technical in nature or due to the local law in those countries, rather than literal penny pinching.
Really? Why those three countries? And how often does Apple start something in a country other than the USA? And it's just a coincidence that the 99¢ is exactly what Spotify is charging? Put down the Apple hater blinders for once. You know what, that $1 is actually millions of dollars ....due to its user base so yeah, it's valid penny pinching.
It's called a rollout, you try it in a few countries and see what the uptake is , smart business .
Show me a single service or change apple has rolled out globally in one hit. Nothing, so don't use this as an example, apple has always been phased
Although you may be entirely correct, you're statement that Apple is complying the law is no more or less correct than opposing statements stating they have other reasons. Both sides, yours and theirs, are engaging in unsubstantiated speculation. Nothing more. I also think it's law/regulation related. But you, and some others, are asserting opinion as fact. How about adding a 'I think' or 'my opinion' in that quote somewhere? At some point I'm sure Apple's reasoning will be revealed. 'Til then stop tripping over yourself to shoehorn justifications into your Apple world views. I promise it doesn't make anyone look clever either. If only people were as interested in thinking as in spouting off. Apple's complying with the law in those countries, people. Apple Music rival Spotify's three-month trial also costs 99 cents in Australia, 0,99 EUR in Spain, and Fr. 0.99 in Switzerland.
It's probably local regulations, like how contests in Canada require "skill testing questions".

You answered your own question...
That's how a free market works. Prices are set by the market and companies adjust. Why should apple stay free if nobody else is?
[doublepost=1495386824][/doublepost]Also: prepare for the blind apple haters who look to justify their distaste for the company with unjustified claims... like "I hate Tim Cook and apple look they're cheap and penny pinching" when every other service does it in those companies........... smh
Care to say when they will file for Chapter 11 or even worse, Chapter 7?It's over, Apple is finished.
How much does your daily 'Skinny decaf low fat Latte' cost?So no more free trial when you buy your $1k iPhone 8 and try to test the service? Sounds about Apple.
