will the proceeds go to the victims that lost their investments?
Yes, Musk has a lot of friends. And some are even billionaires.Don’t hold your breath. Twitter is losing money now but Musk is (was?) the world’s richest man and he has lots of billionaire friends, or at least billionaires who are willing to invest in his companies. Not sure many of them have a lot of actual friends. Point is that people WANT to post their opinion (and by commenting here I’m proving that I’m no exception) and Twitter right now is still one of the big boys, audience wise.
Huh?Michael Lewis hung out with the guy for six months and didn’t know it was a house of cards. If he has any insights into the reality of this scam why didn’t he reveal them before the collapse?
I suspect Lewis either doesn’t have any real insights, or won’t share them because it would expose the reality of corruption, which goes far deeper than FTX and SBF, touching on politicians and the elite. As a result, I expect whatever is produced to be pure propaganda designed to distract people from the truth.
Because far more people than we'd hope are incapable of understanding something beyond a headline. Not sure how 'nearing a deal' is translating to 'wow, that was fast', 'inside job?', 'was the script already written?', 'it better expose the people I don't like!'.
Lol! Good one. Gave me a good laugh. His name is the 3 act story:
Sam -> Bankman -> Fried
Why would the author of The Big Short be unable to write propaganda? If you pay attention to what I wrote, you’ll notice I said Lewis had no real insights. The point there is that he was in the midst of a world class scam and apparently didn’t notice it was a scam. He certainly didn’t seem to warn anyone.Huh?
Yeah the author of The Big Short was definitely working on puff propaganda. Hilarious.
He's a writer. His insights end up in a book which probably isn't even close to complete. Besides, just because he spent time with SBF doesn't mean he had put together the full story yet.
Washington Post … mmmmmkay yes I’m sure that’s an honest study and representation of reality 🤡Yes, Musk has a lot of friends. And some are even billionaires.
But that doesn't mean they will put their money into Twitter if Twitter continues to lose money, revenue continues to decline because key advertisers are avoiding the platform,

and Twitter Blue and his other ideals don't bringing in enough to sustain operations.
Billionaires don't become billionaires by poorly investing their money.
Exactly. Crypto is not the story here at all. What they did is as old as the world. Although I think that as smart as they were they really believed themselves and didn’t realise that they don’t know what they don’t know. Classic inexperience in running a business and no oversight or willingness to listen. Even now some of them think they can trade themselves out of it.It could be a great movie if its willing to gets its hands dirty in the many dimensions of corruption. In his tweets he bragged about as long as he said the right woke things politicians would not regulate him as he gave millions to politicians. Crypto is a small piece of this insane story.

He wouldn't have noticed it was a scam, because it wasn't a scam. It was terrible corporate controls, verging on embezzlement. You would need to be a forensic accountant to figure that out. But the only "scam" is that FTX portrayed itself as being as secure and reliable as a bank. It wasn't, at least not a 2022 bank. Maybe more like an 1822 bank. The point there is that he was in the midst of a world class scam and apparently didn’t notice it was a scam. He certainly didn’t seem to warn anyone.

I don’t see how they could glorify this catastrophe. I think the “WeCrashed” series did a good job of depicting how despicable these characters are, so I would imagine it will be something around these lines.I hope they use David Fincher's The Social Network as the blueprint on how to properly depict these greedy tech bros who pretended to revolutionise the world while cheating every single person they possibly could.
In less competent hands, this will just end up being another biopic glorifying someone who doesn't deserve to be glorified.
Greed on both sides, definitely.I may be totally wrong so correct me if I am wrong. It sounds like greedy people (investors) hoped to make a quick large return investing on a questionable company that was controlled by a shady, greedy characte.

Yes, literally the guy that wrote itWell that sure was quick. Perhaps Apple had a guy on the inside??? 🤔😉
Blimey didn't this just happen 2 or 3 weeks ago and someone has a script?
