Agreed.I didn’t say that did I? I just said that with all the stuff the Apple Watch can do then it’s far more than a watch. And the iPhone can be just as much a watch- just of the old fashioned pocket watch style.

Well...thank you for supporting my statement that the garmin is the much more expensive watch.AW costs $399 for the aluminum 41 inch. The Epix costs $1,000 and that is the priciest Garmin. Nothing subjective about it.
How angry were you on your double bogey and how hard did you throw the club into the bag relative to that?Stainless Steel got chipped on a golf bag? Or on a club?
It's not that simple. They would also have to consider whether they wanted a micro iPhone on their wrist as opposed to an actual watch. And this is what it comes down to. For all Garmin is, if a user that even prefers some of the Garmin Watch features would still buy an Apple Watch, then Apple has just the right mix of features.
It's nice, I still have the plastic on mine. Still haven't brought it anywhere to have it resized, lol.Very fair points. I actually didn’t know that Garmin made a metal band for the watch. Buying that asap.

Well the OP DID sayIt's not that simple. They would also have to consider whether they wanted a micro iPhone on their wrist as opposed to an actual watch.
Which I guess means they wanted a micro iPhone on their wrist.Would I give up the Apple watch and switch exclusively to this Garmin Watch? Probably not.
They evolved from that onto the wrist. For hundreds of years watches were a pocket watch and hung on a chain. That’s what they were supposed to be like.
Well it is a $1000 watch. My Fenix 6 was $1400. It merits that price point because it's superior to apple watch. If apple made a true watch it would be a similar price point or like 2 grand for the base model. And probably ****ing start it with 16gb and charge $250 for more storage like they do with all their productsIt is the more expensive device, although this is not to its advantage. It doesn’t look like a $1K watch. An AW Hermes version looks much more luxurious.
No way. The apple watch and the word "luxury" don't belong in the same sentence. If they did, it would only be because of the band, and perhaps a slight enhancement from apple on the metal frame. It is still fundamentally a micro iPhone. Still just a micro black square. Too much of a touch device/cell phone, and not enough of a watch. It is the more expensive device, although this is not to its advantage. It doesn’t look like a $1K watch. An AW Hermes version looks much more luxurious.
I have both the Fenix 7X SS and the AW7, they have never cost 4x more. There are pros and cons to both watches. I will say I’ve had my Fenix 7X since release and I have more scratches on the bezel of it then my AW7. MIP screens aren’t as good indoors but I’ve never had a problem seeing mine. However, in the sun the MIP is king. This is subjective. Depends when you are buying them.
Great post. When I was starting out running, I tried an Apple Watch and hated it. Battery life was horrendous - training for a marathon with one, forget it. All touch-screen is also crappy (in the winter, my sleeve would brush the screen and kill the run, and I need a physical "Lap" button for interval workouts and racing). Been with Garmin for years now, there really is no substitute. I've been watching for news on the AW Pro, as I really would like to have the best of both worlds, but I'm doubtful. To another poster's point, it would be trivial for Apple to make a version of their watch more tailored to the workout crowd; they already have a whole Apple Fitness platform, for crying out loud. The watches need to catch up. If this Pro is that watch, I will be first in line at the Apple Store!
I wasn't responding to that at all. You missed the point. I was responding to the fact he said "the garmin will always look like a workout device regardless of what band is on it."Well the OP DID say
Which I guess means they wanted a micro iPhone on their wrist.
I never buy a watch to flash but if i like it i buy it. All the better. Mostöy for functions. Who wants to wear a watch you might get killed for? Where i live if you wear a patek it might be the last thing you do.Well it is a $1000 watch. My Fenix 6 was $1400. It merits that price point because it's superior to apple watch. Ahh, you responded to the wrong post. No worries.I wasn't responding to that at all. You missed the point. I was responding to the fact he said "the garmin will always look like a workout device regardless of what band is on it."
I know it doesn't cost exactly 4X more if you want to nit pick. My point was it's (the fenix) the more valuable watch of the 2, even from the level of base model. You can't blame the garmin for all your scratches. You were only wearing one watch at a time. Maybe you were more clumsy with the garmin on. Not the watch's fault. It's a super tough watch. Stands a much better chance of not having its screen smashed too if it fell from a much higher height. If the AW fell off a high apartment building balcony, for example, you'll be calling apple support the next day. With the garmin, you'd be able to put it back on your wrist and continue on with your day. That AW glass or whatever it is will smash just like a good old iPhone screen because that's what it is....I have both the Fenix 7X SS and the AW7, they have never cost 4x more. Definitely not an issue for me.I never buy a watch to flash but if i like it i buy it. All the better. Mostöy for functions. Who wants to wear a watch you might get killed for? Where i live if you wear a patek it might be the last thing you do.
No, I didn't.Ahh, you responded to the wrong post. No worries.
You said the garmin doesn't look like a $1K watch, has a horrible screen, mostly made of plastic, and no user experience. In my experience, the screen is fantastic, and the user experience is great. I see luxury every time I look down at my wrist with its sapphire glass, titanium frame and features. Hence why I said you don't know what you're talking about. You make it sound as though it's a cheap plastic device and it doesn't deserve that harsh criticism. It does everything I need it to do with minimal buttons pushed. You are bashing the fenix pretty hard.I had Garmin Fenix and few AWs so I know what I am talking about. Not sure if you understand aesthetics, design and luxury. But as long as you are happy with your watch, that’s all it matters. Have a nice day!
I think this sums it up perfectly.I've always said that an Apple Watch is an excellent smart watch with some fitness features added while the Garmin is an excellent fitness watch with some smart features added.
Never said the AW was stronger. I have both so obviously like both of them. Maybe you are the one nit picking all the post in this thread?I know it doesn't cost exactly 4X more if you want to nit pick. That’s awesome, congratulations! I’ve ran two marathons with Garmin and some half marathons with the AW. I used LTE to stream via Spotify during the HM and never had battery issues. What time are you putting in for the marathon?I’m going for my 9th marathon in October and all of them with Apple Watches. They are amazing running buddies and the upcoming software update just makes it better.
No doubt for the run Garmin might be better focussed, but I think some of it might be addressed this September.
Ok. It just appears that you did.No, I didn't.
Would I give up the Apple watch and switch exclusively to this Garmin Watch? Probably not.

They’ve already said they wouldn’t give up the Apple Watch and switch. So, they would want an Apple Watch, also known as a micro iPhone, on their wrist. The Apple Watch has the right mix of features INCLUDING the one where it’s a micro iPhone. It's not that simple. They would also have to consider whether they wanted a micro iPhone on their wrist as opposed to an actual watch.
???"the garmin will always look like a workout device regardless of what band is on it."
Unless you buy the 1,000 Epix or the watered down Venu plus, you will be stuck with the MIP screen, which is very hard to read indoors. ALL of Garmin’s watches are stuck with this 2010 era screen, hence the long battery life.
