The election coverage will be available through the Today tab of the Apple News app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple says users must update to iOS 13.3, iPadOS 13.3, or macOS 10.15.2 to access all of the content, including a series of curated guides, state and national polling data, infographics, and other resources.

Beginning with the next Democratic debate in New Hampshire on February 7, Apple News will feature live-streaming video from ABC News, along with real-time analysis and updates from FiveThirtyEight and other outlets. Apple says a livestream of the debate will also be available through its TV app.

The special coverage will last through the 2021 presidential inauguration.

The second article on the 2020 election is from Men's Health . . . available only if you're subscribed to Apple News Plus it appears. They are really trying to make magazines happen.

Not that I buy Men's Health anymore, but when I did it was for the cologne samples and hot guys. I could be wrong, maybe they have good election coverage now. :)

Looks like Apple is the latest company to join in on #YangMediaBlackout...

Apple getting into this seems like an incredibly poor choice - it can only make them less popular to wander into politics.
Are you saying that because he isn't included in the image in the left screenshot? I really like Yang but he is only polling at 3.8% in the state. If they tried to squeeze all dems running into that image it'd look pretty ridiculous.

While I commend Apple's attempt, It's nearly impossible to objectively curate coverage of a Presidential election in this country. This is a subject where it's really on the reader to seek out his own information and news.
Ofc you can. Just call both parties and asked them which 10 news outlets they want to be included in the coverage and then include these outlets. Nobody can blame you then for censorship or lack of objectivity when the political parties themself made the election.

Another thing you can do is add a twitter/facebook widget directly in the News app where you can follow the publications of both parties and candidates accounts in real time side-by-side. No filters and no journalist making any interpretations, just a direct communication channel between voters and candidates.

True. And I also wonder if politicians and media sources have figured out that many in the American public are getting burnout from being constantly bombarded with politics. We literally can't watch, read, listen to, or go ANYWHERE without it being shoved in our faces. It's ridiculous. After November...it would be nice if they would give us a damn break. We aren't stupid. We don't need our news picked for us. Let us find it and make up our own minds instead of shoving it in our faces at every. single. opportunity. You've got political parties who are crying about outside influence in elections. And then you have politicians and the media doing the best they can to influence people's decisions by shoving biased crap in our faces any chance they get. Can say without a shadow of a doubt...the media is impacting people's voting decisions more than any foreign country could ever dream of. And the worst part? The people are letting that happen. We aren't too stupid to look up our own information. But what we ARE...is lazy. No one wants to do the work themselves. And this is where it gets us. 24/7 bombardment.

Tim and Trump are buddy buddy. Apple will get more out of Trump than out of anyone else. Everyone knows this. This "special coverage" inside Apple News is just a charade.

Just because you think something isn’t biased doesn’t make it so.
From the WSJ:

From the Political ad spending will total $9.9 billion in 2020, according to the latest U.S. advertising forecast fromWPP PLC’s ad-buying unit GroupM. That would be up from $8.7 billion in 2018, when midterm congressional elections were held, and from $6.3 billion in 2016, when President Trump was elected."
follow the money - the "news" industry has a self serving interest to bid one party off against the other... And one candidate against another - hence Yang, Gabbard et all get no airtime, Sanders is pushed behind Joe because he has the big bucks (and is less likely to implement campaign finance reform)- and watch as Hillary will swoop in to usurp the "democratic" choice.

lovely process, this democracy.

Exactly why they are doing it. Seek information, and decide for yourself.
Or...just let people on Facebook tell you what to think.

I used to buy Men's Health for the exercise routines and food related articles. My heavens though, if I want politics, I'll buy a political magazine, not "Men's Health". It is often nice to have something that is not political. I'd like to be able to read a non-political magazine without hearing about Biden, Trump, Bloomberg, Warren, Booker, Hillary, or anyone else. I frankly don't care what the opinion is of the people in Men's Health regarding any of them. Just like I like reading about Mac (and iOS) news here and don't come here to get a political opinion.

Of course when the government is involved in try to control and regulate everything, everything becomes political winner take all. The solution is clearly to let people decide things for themselves - aka liberty - and stop trying to control everything for everyone else.
